Partially because it's a sign that they did their R&D when they made it, instead of just making a pipe with a bend and calling it good (like what seems like some of them could have done). Heck, some of them don't even fit right either.

No screen on the LNFs MAF sensor means lots of turbulance issues is many cases. That coupled with the fact the GDI is prone to misfires and bogging makes for one fussy car.

I wasn't saying that I would not ever buy one and I do appreciate all of the info on here. I was actually looking at CudaJoe's post where he said he would throw his stock airbox back on because of all the inconsistency he was getting out of the new intake. That's how I took it anyway. Maybe I inferred incorrectly. It seems odd that you can move it around and get different ltft's. I'm not really up to speed on fuel trims so I'm not sure what a big deal that is. Then there was another post where someone got CEL's right after putting the intake in and didn't know why.

Therefore, I'm just being cautious and would like to see how things go with those of you who have them installed before I shell out this kind of money. Also, after seeing how close the sensor is to the heat shield is a little disconcerting. I know how sensitive sensors can be.

I hope this clears up why I made the statement I made.

I only see where CudaJoe mentioned he wanted to throw the stock intake on to see if the fuel trims moved on it as well, which i can pretty much assure you they do. The card style MAFs are too touchy IMO.

I just wrote this up. Basically, by turning the filter, the air hits the MAF differently.

I thought you said it still had a cold idle surging issue?

i think the person that said they had a cel w/ k&n was a lsj so its a completely different intake. The filter for the k&n is actually oval kind of shaped so if rotated it changes trims which kind of makes sense.

well its not oval shaped, its round but the opening is offset from the center.

I just drove to the Verizon store and my ltft's were 0.0

I had unhooked the battery and the ECM for a little bit trying to make the charge pipe not rub the wires, but I failed.

Since we're not likely to have precise dyno results, here comes the dumb question:
--> For those who have it, how does the thing feel on the butt dyno?

I would like to see the gain over just the drop in filter that they make.

im on stock tune so really, all I notice is the new sound. However after getting the ZZP pipe, I feeling like there might be some gains in the lower rpm, lol. Checking the hp on the Aeroforce gauge shows that I still make the same peak as before (247hp) but it looks like i've gained a few in the lower rpms ( 4000rpms and below.

But I could be just retarded.

Ya me too, but I'm stage 1 w/ high flow downpipe. There should be a small gain though, along with a **** load of noise

You have a dyno at your school, if that's high school then that's badass lol

Is that a tuned 15 or just bolted on and ran it
