K&N Intake for SS/TC
By far, this is the worse way to have your intake situated. My ltft's however = -3.1
Im going back to the 90 degree angle maybe. is negative better to have than positive fuel trims?
haha Im working on that. At 45 degree angle for stft's, I get 7.0 to 8.0 when throttling and when cruising I get -7.0 to -9.0

If you have to pick being off one way or the other though, pick negative. That means that you're rich and taking out fuel to compensate instead of being lean and adding fuel to compensate.
thats the way I did have it. It was giving me positive fuel trims. Then I rotated it 90 degrees so the bulge part of the filter was away from the engine and I got negative fuel trims. lol.
Im trying a 45 degree angle and see what happens next. I loved the negative fuel trims. very responsive!

hahaha, yea. I told ya. I noticed it when I took the intake out and reinstalled it and put the filter in so that it was further away from the engine. filters back to 9 o'clock (when facing the car) right now my car shows a -8.0 ltft. and for stft's, I get somewhere between -3.0 to -6.0 when cruising. BUT when WOTing it or just throttling it, it corrects to 0.0 exactly. not higher or lower. pretty neat!
Im no scientist (actually...I am) but I think this phenomena has something to do with the fact of how the filters location is like an inch or two from the sensor on top of the fact that rotating the bulge of the filter upwards allows the air coming through the slit of the hood to enter the filter. Rotate the filter down and less air rushing through the slit of the hood (where it meets the bumper) reaches the filter.
Basically I dunno what kinda results could happen on the CIA, but your welcome to try it and let us know.

I called K & N about the intake tube bracket that is supposed to be on some of our cars,it is not on mine and they have told me when they come out with a bracket it will be shipped to me.Also I gather from what I am reading that I should rotate my filter so the bulge is at the top,for proper air so to speak. Can anyone tell me if this has in fact improved the response or performance of the SRI?Thanks
my K&N has so far caused me alot of issues...the first day it was installed it ran great...and sounded amazing...the next day on my way to work i got the check engine and ever since that my car is running on engine power reduced...think i might have to go to the dealer...ive already tried many things...even totally unassambled and reassembled and installed that intake again. reset battery...what else could be wrong...any ideas before i have to take it to the dealer?

What code did it give you? Since it ran good for a while i would say it is possibly something came loose. Maybe a connection or something. Pull the code and see what it says first.
