it doesnt make the turbo bark noise while sitting and revving, my brother was driving it and maybe it has something to do with just taking it to redline and pushing the clutch in.

The bark is normally air rushing back and slowing the compressor wheel down. its possible it did it before and you just couldnt hear it. Ill get a vid of me driving it when i get home and see how the noise changes as i have the Z28 today.

Lies . I don't recall it doing the same on my friend's custom tuned TC (with the AEM at the time) and he was pushing 24PSI. It was essentially the same as stock just louder. Perhaps I should get him to check this video and see what he thinks .

no mine only makes the bark when Im engaged in a gear. And I can make the bark/chirp before redline, even as low as 4000rpms it makes it, lol. Its how much boost your at is the single dependent of what the noise coming out is.

Sounds like a supra with a little turbo bark? Its the first modded TC balt i know of, so im not sure if it sounds like the rest of them.

Oh and the 09 and the K&N had the correct bracket, no modification needed or a new bracket. Install was a breeze and it fits amazingly well.
I am not sure that is a good flutter ?

Does sound like a supra while driving it ..... Mine doesn't do that just hear the squeak after letting off the gas

Listen to the end of this one, this has the AEM and GMS1 installed right at the end you can hear the same "flutter":

The bark is from the rubber diaprahm sealing off in the BPV, mine used to do it when new, quit months ago. Like a fart.

So I guess it's common..... Now if I can just figure out what's causing the power loss everyother time.

Tried to order today but they are out ofstock.... Oh well. Gotta get my intercooler fixed and ****. Don't want too much on the go.

Conclusion: GMS1 + after market intake = supra flutter

Must be the guys tuned for an intake don't get that nasty flutter , or maybe it is supposed to sound like this and ours is off .. Doubt it.............

Technically yes, but i doubt you will see it happen on these cars. Now if it was a mitsu turbo.....

Ive seen some trucks damage a turbo from the turbo flutter, but they are running like 44psi, strangely all Dodges. How many turbo Supras have you heard make the same noise and not crap turbos every 5 minutes?

It's most likely the bypass valve being a little slow. The flutter is the sound of the turbo slowing down quickly as the TB closes and the air pressure builds between the turbo and the TB, that pressure slows the turbo down quickly producing the noise.

That's more what I'd expect to hear, single open/shut of the BPV and it's done . Without an intake it almost sounds like someone clicking their tongue with a deeper tone (great example I know). I can definitely hear it in the vid.

IMO the flutter has nothing to do with the intake. I dont see how that would change anything.

I would think the flutter is there on some cars prior, just it isnt audible.

Well, I've been the guinea pig in SW Ontario on the SS/TCs for most everything else (tires, brakes, GMS1) soooo.....why stop now . Pretty much comes down to "if Ryan's car doesn't blow up we're good"...great thanks!" I will make note that venom09 does his own thing and has taught me a thing or two though...we discussed this intake on the phone the other night .

mine sounds almost identical , you can't hear the flutter as much because mine is a Cold air intake .. traps all the sound in the fender well

I have the bypass valve spring. The flutter is always there even when bone stock. It is caused alot by boosting just a little and letting off and therefor there is not a big pressure build up causing the bypass not to open quick enough. Just my theary but I have played around with it alot, and thats what I noticed, it sounds normal when letting off the trottle anything over 5 psi.

is that upgraded spring worth anything? i heard people have had problems with it.

as far as the flutter goes, if its not too bad for the turbo it wont bother me. besides, the turbo going bad is just an excuse to put a bigger one on there
