So I installed the K&N Intake today...

It sounds freakin' awesome, and not too loud on the other hand either. It must be working for me because while testing it an LS2 GTO I've ran before came up on me and we went three times. Each time I put 2+ cars on him. The outcome astounded me because just a few weeks ago when I came across this same guy he put a few busses on me.

Anyway, now for the trims. I keep getting postive trims and no rotation of the filter seems to help it. I'm going to see if Vince can adjust me for it. Don't take my case as the rule though because I can't remember if I got tuned for my last intake/filter combo and that would affect the fuel trim results here.

As far as the IAT1 (air intake temps) of this SRI vs stock, I'm averaging -1 to 3 degrees in relation to the stock setup.

Overall, I'm very happy with this product.

Sorry, thats not quite the same thing. If i give it short bursts and back off the throttle it does the same thing, the flutter comes from a WOT pull then just pushing in the clutch, not a roll on roll off type acceleration like that vid.

you dont "HAVE" to get a tune for the others, but this intake seems to keep the closest to 0 trim, but from what I've heard the new aem has good trims too from what term2 said. I like sri's though.... filter is closer to the turbo.

ya i cold air intake is out of the question for me to much water snow dirt everything haha so sri is the way im going and the closest tuner is more then 8 hours away so a sri that won't mess with the fuel trims would be the best

So I'm assuming there is no Group Buy then? But list all the vendors who have the new K&N Intake besides K&N's website please, I'm still new and don't know all of them!

Has anyone ordered from this company? http://www.byunspeed.com/product_inf...ducts_id=15612
They list the K&N 69-4518TTK at a reduced price.
Plus http://www.autoanything.com/air-inta...5A3698608.aspx will beat any price on K&N by $10.00.

intake

Got the intake on last night....drove for about 10mi last night and 30 today.

INSTALL NOTES: mock up the intake with the bracket on the engine before installing heat shield. (JUST FOR MOCK-UP, INSTALL SHIELD THEN INTAKE LATER).

I put bracket too far back and needed to move it forward.....after installing heat sheild. Taking it off again I broke a bolt in half, the one with the NYLON nut...those damn things STAY-ON

START-UP NOTES:After replacing my negative terminal and priming the ignition, my rear fuel pump didn't prime/turn on. Cycled the ignition and then it did. Probably a fluke. When first listening to the Warm-up cycle obviously the car hasn't learned the intake, I think it made partial boost. When it started to cycle down i heard a partial BPV release hahaha. Didn't do it this morning, so it has learned it.

BLOW OFF NOTES with GMS1: I get the normal "Pssssh" almost all the time. Kinda weird though I get the "Kueewwfff" sometimes, its a single sound but different "no flutter". Got it under normal throttle sorta going up a hill, not even getting on it. Sometimes get it after I have just started it up and leaving like a parking lot or something, never under full throttle. Probably normal, just have to get used to these NEW sounds.

Take a look on shopping.google.com, some place saying they'll sell it for 259.33 shipped. We all know they're just drop shippers who have no stock, but if I can find any positive reviews on that company ... I'll roll the dice with the AMEX

Again people really need to look up what turbo flutter aka turbo bark is and what causes it. You would realize the intake has no bearing on it.

If anything i would blame the bypass valve being slow.

When the TB closes the air rushes back and slows the turbo down causing the noise.

TTR doesn't have stock n e more unless they got it in today i was PMing them last week and they said just to wait for the group buy. I managed to find one in stock elsewhere but it was their last 1 id say people are just going to have to wait it out at this point. OTTP said the same thing that they would have no stock for 2 or so weeks.

anybody thought of running the suncoast ram air hood with this? I think if you used the hood for the 2.2l/2.4l the hood would mount up pretty close to where this airbox is at. I'll have to go look... I know the ram air isn't going to help much but would be nice to say its actually functional

I called customer service and I was told they are still developing the fix. I told them you already took your car in so they could do so, after he asked me if I could bring mine in if I lived in the area. I was talking to someone in customer service who in turn was putting me on hold to talk to a tech. If I were speaking with the tech, I think things would have been more clear.

I sure have! I've been wanting to pair that hood with a short ram intake for some time now. It takes the intake temp shortcomings of a SRI and not only improves it, but may make it better than a CAI. The key would be that you'd have to be moving, which helps with IC and SRI heatsoak anyway.

Luckily though, I've found that when in motion the K&N SRI intake temps are actually quite reasonable, and in some cases lower than stock (I guess due to the free air that comes in through the grill).
