Kinda of disappointed

I recently just purchased a 2008 Cobalt SS. I know next to nothing about the cobalt ss only that the 2008 turbo has some decent stock horse for such a little car. So when my cousin who has been in the air force for about 6 months said his 2008 Cobalt SS with 50,000 was for sale for 9,000 I jumped on it.
I know it is a good buy for the price, but after ALOT of research I am pretty much convinced it isn't the SS I thought I was getting but still I can't complain. He has a cold air intake on it and maybe some exhaust work. I haven't been able to look the car over to much since the lien has to get released before I can bring it home.
I thought 08 only came out with one type of SS, but maybe he opted for the supercharger instead of the turbo which wasn't what I would have done but the VIN has a B not the X in the VIN. I also stuck the VIN in the Car Fax Report website and it came back as a Cobalt Sport, but it has the SS badging, 18 inch wheels...but no Brembo's...weird combos.
I'm thinking of finding an actual turbo car and trading up once I get this one.

Yeah. They are all around 16k. I would just trade this one in on a 08 turbo or just get an 03 EVO 8 which was going to be my original purchase anyway.

I never talked to him since he is in Afghanistan. Dealt with is parents and they have no clue about the car.
Even if the car had a turbo it is still a cobalt like the SRT4 is still a Neon. I was just hoping to get at least the better car. Since it is a Cobalt there is only $1,000 book difference between the Sport and SS.

I figured the internals on these cars are pretty poor. At least everything excluding the SS. Isn't the SS all forged internals? Unless my research on that was bogus also.

Why wouldn't you at least carfax BEFORE you bought it?
I wouldn't touch an 03 Evo. I know, I had one. Unless they've replaced all the synchros already, you're going to have to do it. They're pretty stout cars, but people beat the hell out of them. Get ready to drop a few grand after getting one, just to get it fixed up.
