KO4r Upgrade?

Would there be a big difference using the K04r over the stock K04?
Looking for quick bolt on upgrades.

What about without E85? We don't have it available anywhere around here.

I know adding a DP and exhaust will be first but want other quick bolt on ideas.. not looking to make Crazy HP.

How is the k04r different then k04? Is this just a compressor wheel upgrade?

k04r is a bigger compressor wheel, I looked up the specs of a bunch of turbos to compare it too. I'll see if I can find them.

Those are the turbo options that I know of.

So from that you can see that the inducer part of the compressor wheel is 4mm bigger while the exducer is 10 mm bigger. Basically the compressor is 10mm wider than factory k04. Theoretically it should make more power than the BNR 2860 but I dont think thats the case.

So the K04R wouldn't be worth it if I am running 93? Wish we had E here...

20g would be the cheapest real power you can make. ~400whp with a good tune and pump gas. or just below it. I think its safer than the zfr as well. Alot of people losing their trans with the zfr and no boost ramp.

if you get the K04r its nice for the price. it will hold boost all the way to redline where as the stock k04 wont do that and starts to fall off. you will be able to make around 350-360whp on 93 so not much more then stock turbo on e85 but like they said meth will help out big time.

20 g also spools higher than a zfr so your not gonna have a torque hit like you would without much boost ramp on a zfr
Joe- I have seen my + go as high as 39.2 since going with a catless dp, but it usually is running 38.4 in 3rd and 4th gear in wot.
Also the compressor outside dimensions for the r + and stocker are the same. I believe they mill the inside of the housing for the wheel to fit.

This is all great info! I think 350 - 360 would be good for us right now. I am liking the fact that the K04r doesn't fall off like the stock one does.

Keep the stock BPV?

you can keep the stock bpv but if you want go head and get the Forge BPV you wont be dissapointed thats for sure. also if you get the R make sure you get the boost acuator, let Matt know at turbo bay when you order or it may even be an option when you order too.

I remember people having issues with forge bpv's. Was that a trifecta tuning issue or has it a all been sorted?

That idk. i know i never had any issues with mine and that was one of the first mods i did haha. so that was on my car for about 4-5 years lol. i know people have an issue with the springs sticking, which i would take mine apart and clean it once a year to get all the gunk and **** out of it.
