low fuel pressure help
low fuel pressure help
Ok guys...seen threads like mine before but nobody really says anything besides hpfp. I'm getting code P0087. Replaced the hpfp...and I still have the code. Any help would be amazing. Thanks
Make sure the lobe is hitting the roller ?
My case was crazy I had a high spot where the roller hits the fuel pump so it was getting stuck replaced that now I'm gud to go.
If u replaced the pump it's sumtin mechanical, Wut caused the code? Like Wut were you doing when it happened.
I need help with this also, my car is giving me a low fuel pressure code too and I'm driving around in "ENG PWR REDUCED" mode. I went through the whole hassle/learning experience after buying a fuel filter and trying to find it that it is unserviceable and integrated with the fuel pump. I guess my next course of action is just to take it to a shop and have someone change out the pump for me unless there is a known fix for this. I've heard rumors that the fuel pump is under recall, is this true for 08+ SS's?
its either a faulty fuel pressure sensor, worn cam lobe or the injectors. the reason why that code is set is because your fuel pressure is 218psi lower than desired, did you look at the hpfp's lobe on the cam when replacing it?
You check the fuel rail pressure sensor?

Ok...where can I check pressure after the hpfp? I checked in on the bezel by the regulater or whatever it is.. the round **** that's bolted to the manifold
I assume you're talking about the schrader valve. That's only going to give you tank pressure before the hpfp. There actually is no schrader valve on the rail because it would quite honestly blow apart with the pressures that go through the fuel rail. The only real way (that I'm aware of at the moment) to test fuel pressure at the rail is via logging software.

So logging software. Is there any besides hpt?
