My Cobalt SS/TC finally arrived

My dealer called me this morning just as it rolled in on the truck. I went to the dealer over lunch and signed the paperwork and they had it prepped and ready for me this evening. I thought I would post the following information for those who still have cars on order:

I ordered it 4/14/08. It was built the week of 5/29/08. It was "bayed" twice (code 4B00) - once on 6/3/08 and again on 6/7/08. It went into "intermediate delivery" (code 4300) on 6/13/08 and it arrived this morning - 26 days later. I am in the Kansas City area.

For those thinking of buying, here is some info on my deal:

My dealer DID get me the $1,000 rebate from GM even though Chevy paperwork said that it was not applicable on the SS.

The only options I ordered were the Limited Slip Differential for $495.00, the premium stereo for $295.00, and the high wing spoiler for $150.00.

The base price of my car was $22,335.00. The destination charge was $660.00. The total price with options and the destination charge was $23,935.00. There was a tire tax of $1.00 and a dealer administartion fee of $299.00. Sales tax was $1,748.36. The grand total was $25,983.26 less the $1,000.00 rebate and my $500.00 deposit/down payment which totals $24,483.36.

Great info! Which dealer did you purchase from? Was the $22,335 the invoice pricing?

Maybe not the best idea to be doing one in the direction of the house though. . . . .
I'd rather take out a neighbors house instead of mine.

I was just checking to see if the posi unit was still tight in the Nova...and I have a line lock to (hopefully) avoid hitting the house.

The McCarthy badge is coming off tonight. I just didn't have time last night. I did ask them to leave it off but.....

That "McCarthy" badge MUST GO!!! The last thee vehicles I bought I refused to sign the paperwork if I saw any badging other than what came from the factory. I told them for an additional 15% off I would agree to advertise for them!

Yep, I am king sandbagger at the VAMP races.

Those nitrous bottles are just in there for ballast, it's not like I ever spray any of my cars.

The choices in my mind before getting the SS/TC were:

06 GTO
08 SS/TC

Picked the SS/TC because of the warranty, insurance, gas mileage, handling, and the ability to be easily used during winter. What the GTO has over it is speed, luxury, and image.
