neither can 90% of the people on this site. Oh, but wait! What was the air density and altitude? Maybe that's why he ran so slow. /sarcasm.

You guys are funny! Do you guys know how many records Gary has broken over the years? He's one of the best drivers out there. Maybe the car just is not that great as some of you think it is.

multiple pops = what most people will do in their new ss t/c.

1 pop = what the rare ones will do and actually be in the top 10 list that gets made.

it looks like he never drove that car before. traction looked really bad and shifting appeared to be all wrong. i dont think he was in comp. mode either.

maybe it's a combination of both. But last time I checked, I beat his time by over a second and trapped the same speed. Oh wait, I was on slicks. So that doesn't count. I would have trapped higher and still ran faster if I would have been on street tires.

that's what I thought.

wow, I can't believe you picked up on all that. You could tell he wasn't in comp. mode?

I love the technology in the SS\TC, but I'd wait to buy one until they start to learn how to tune and mod them.

very true, but i was expecting 14.3-14.2 not 14.7 or a 15.1

if you think this guy can't drive then you need to google his name he drives a low 7 second cobalt, has set a bunch of national records, and has a bunch of nhra wins as well as the 4 cylinder record. he was 5th in the nhra circuit, and had 13 wins out of 16 events in 05. yea, he can't drive for **** though

i have to say i'm extremely unimpressed by this though. for a guy that owns cobalts, works on cobalts, and is as good a driver as he is, something is up here. to be at some points over a second slower than some of the other tests, either the other tests were inflated or something must have been up.

when u power shift u have to shift before you bounce redline...and he was shifting exactly where redline was and since he isnt letting go off the gas, thats what happens..its normal

I'm telling you, according to the canadians on this site, his Density Altitude and weather was MAJORLY affecting his times. Doesn't matter that he still trapped 100, Just because he was making the same power output has nothing to do with it. His D/A was way to high hence the hight times.

/sarcasm.

uh??? read any other post i ever put up about the ss/tc,k i was all about it.. but with the no-lift shift and 260hp i was definately expectin better then a 14.7 in this vid .. maybe it was just the driving, i hope it was becasue the numbers are ******* embarrassing for a turboed car. i can only go by what i see on the net until they come out and i can see for myself.

but let me geuss ur one of the ones gettin it.. so maybe ur the one in denial and have fun driving a stock 14 second ss/tc for the next year before any mods come out for it.

it was sarcasm. No matter what, he was trapping 100mph, so he should have ran a bit better than a 14.7, especially with all the ecu tricks that the new ss t/c has.

i know it was sarcasm.

on a side note, doesn't spinning the tires dramatically raise the trap speed?

not dramatically, but yes it could inflate them a tad. Kind of like he was trapping 99 consistently, and then on that one run he trapped 100. That's a good example.

ALSO...we do need to remember that the SS Cobalt’s were more designed as a road course cars than a ¼ mile cars.
