im somewhat sarcatsic but only about it running 6s. and honestly why was he even driving it and recoding if its been raining sounds to me like a ******* "phail" as you say. im sorry i cant get hyped up about a professional driver that doesnt use enough sense to say nah i wont do it in the rain. not only for safety reasons but for the sheer fact that it will make him look like a shitty driver.

When my stock SC was new (and with a proper cool down), I ran a 14.8@96mph.
With the SS/T in the video hitting 100mph, it DEFINITELY should have been turning mid/low 14's.
Maybe the "pro" driver who was racing the SS/T forgot how to race a street car that doesn't have slicks.
Chevy should have confiscated the video on the spot!
I'm sure our SS.net 'Balters will put that guy's ET to shame.
P.S. Alternate Reason Why That Guy's ET Was So Slow: He tests cars for Edmunds.com ...

actually there's no tuning available now, as i'm pretty sure the cobalt will have different computers than the sky/solstice. if it's not different, it's at least programmed differently. and, without tuning, modding will be worthless. the computer is set to hit a certain tq #, and will over/under compensate depending on the conditions to hit the programmed tq #. add more power, and the computer will cut the boost to still hit the tq #'s it's set to hit.
lots of people talk about the potential, and almost all leave this part out for some odd reason. maybe i'm missing it here, but better hope they come out with some kind of tuning. and, knowing gm, the 09's will have adifferent computer altogether, so no company will work on th e08's since they were produced for what, a few months?

There's gonna be tuning. Han said it himself, he expects big things from this car, give him a bit.
and it will be the same pcm on the 09. A different computer could result in a different car. why would they change it??

Alright, it rained all day that day number 1. Number 2, Gary drives a 7 second cobalt. Going from a 7 second cobalt to a 14 second cobalt is a BIG change. Every car launches differently. Number 3, the cobalt ss/tc's launch mode launces the car at around 5200 rpm and then comes in with lots of traction control which in my opinion is not going to make the car faster.
My point, give him a couple of more runs without the "launch mode" and he'd probably bang out a 14.0 if not high 13. But he probably doesn't really give a crap since he's trying to break some more records this season and is worrying about that rather than getting a stock cobalt to run a somewhat decent time

Well, Im still gonna get the car. Because its still a very nice car that ive wanted and i get a pretty good deal on it. I want a new car because i want this one to last me until im ready to start popping out kids atleast. 8-10 years.
But my dreams of running mustang GT's stock are fading with this guys run. Unless I am seriously a better driver. Im good, but I ain't pro.
