NLS fail..

I was doing a little pull with my buddy along side me.. 35roll, pulled all through second and went to NLS and it popped into the slot, but not the gear, and when i realized it wasnt pulling anymore i backed off.. I have a dumb shift knob on it, and ill admit and cant shift for a damn with that thing, driver error for sure.. But id like to know mechanically what happened? Clutch slip? It bounced redline a few times and it just didnt pull ( as if it was bogging down) engine lighted flashed a few times as well.

But i took it out of gear and put it back in 3rd but slowly, and it pulled fine.. Im not a bad shifter when i have the normal setup.. And i dont beat on my clutch very often.. Anybody have a little more insight on what mechanically happened.. Enlighten me..

Worst case scenario, your 3rd gear syncro is failing. Best case, you missed a gear.

Sounds like you weren't fully in gear, and it just popped out of gear when you went back to power. Same thing can happen if your shift cables aren't adjusted properly.

/\ which could be a good possibility given that you orobably have a sh9rt shifter, simce you fant change the knob on the stock one.

Just because you don't miss any gears doesn't mean your good at driving a stick, my GF doesn't miss gears either, but she's totally capable of burning out a clutch in less than a month.
