linky link for you:

basically blocks off one side of the split turbine housing so that it forces all air to go through one side and then open up once it gets to a certain psi. It effectively decreases the A/R size.

Wow i have never heard of that. Then it opens up at a certain boost level i assume so you back to your original a/r?

Would that be completely stupid on something like a Precision 5557? I would imagine that the spool would hit so damn quick that traction/tranny problems would be really apparent

This thread Rocks! Can anyone with a S256et let me know how good of a Turbo it is? I am very Interested in hearing opinions about how the spool is and top end performance, Seriously considering this Turbo but I wanted something with similar spool time of the K04 but didnt want to spend $2,000 for the ZFR.

You will love. Spool is quick and top end is insane. Full boost 3.6k. Very efficient...low intake temps...

^^ Man i dont have a S256et but it was a neck and neck battle between that and my pte5857 price was the deciding factor, from what those with it will tell you is...IT ROCCS gud spool and great power potential.

You won't be able to install the S256 for less than the ZFR because of all the other parts you have to buy to install it. The ZFR is bolt-in, and therefore cheaper.

S256ET makes slightly more power. Plus running the kit means you aren't restricted to 500whp on the stock manifold like the ZFR.

Agreed. Sounds like tuning issues or an exhaust leak. Maybe even a very large boost leak.

I was just speaking to his comment about not wanting to spend 2K. He certainly can't have the 256 on there for that much.

yep it opens back up so that you are to your normal AR size. If you have a split housing on your 5557 it will help, but I do think you will have to run better tires and monitor your abuse

that is horribly slow for that turbo, pm SCCobaltSS, I believe that is the turbo that he is running, Ill have to text him to see what he spools at. It seems to me that you have a massive boost leak somewhere.

I feel as if just being fully bolted with a good clutch isnt strong enough for the ZFR... am I wrong? Anyone on here with a just fully bolted LNF with a zfr?
