Oil Consumption Diagnosis
Excessive oil consumption, not due to leaks, is the use of 0.9 L (1 qt) or greater of engine oil within 3 200 kilometers (2,000 miles). The causes of excessive oil consumption include the following conditions:
• External oil leaks
Tighten bolts and/or replace gaskets and oil seals as necessary.
• Incorrect oil level or improper reading of oil level indicator
With the vehicle on a level surface, allow adequate drain down time and inspect for the correct oil level.
• Improper oil viscosity
Use recommended SAE viscosity for the prevailing temperatures.
• Continuous high speed driving and/or severe usage
• Crankcase ventilation system restrictions or malfunctioning components
• Valve guides and/or valve stem oil seals worn, or the seal omitted
Ream guides and install oversize service valves and/or new valve stem oil seals.
• Piston rings broken, improperly installed, worn, or not seated properly
Allow adequate time for rings to seat. Replace broken or worn rings, as necessary.
• Piston improperly installed or mis-fitted

Well its time to bump this back up.
First, I want to say that dealing with GM is a nightmare. I hope I never have to do that again. I was getting acused of engine braking to much and driving to hard, over the phone, because it was a 5 speed turbo car....WTF?
I won't make this long, I started a arbitration process and then GM changes their mind and decides to help me. They tell me to go to a different dealership for a 2nd look. After doing another oil consumption test, and putting on a differnt valve cover (different baffling) they finally pulled the spark plugs and found build up on the #4 plug. They pulled the head and found this

So they got a new engine in and I have had my car back about a week. They said that since it has been burning oil its whole life, that durring the initial build of the engine the ring either got rolled and broke or was just a defective ring. Yay for a friday engine
Lets see how this one works out...
