Over boost/ running lean

Hey guys, this is my first post my name is Ben.

I have a 09 sedan with the gmp stg1 upgrade. The car made 270whp and 300wtq on stock air box boost was at 18psi. This was in cincinnati ohio.

I installed the k and n typhone intake and drove to colorado springs where im stationed.

I get here and noww the car is over boosting to 25psi. So i take it to a shop and dyno it. The car is making 350whp and 415wtq great numbers right but the a/f dosent drop below 13.

Nothing has changed but the intake and moving to a much higher altitude. I did install the intake correctly.

Im fixing on taking the intake off and putting it back on the dyno to see if it fixes the lean condition.

The a/f to me dosent make sense i would have thought the computer could correct for that.

What do u guys see on normal a/f reading threough the rev range on the dyno. All i can compare it to is my turbo ls3 which i know is much different from direct injection a/f numbers

Trifecta 12.0-12.2... Hptuners tuners 12.5-12.7 most of the time. The boost will fluctuate at higher altitudes because air is less dense and ecu is trying to make target tq. I have no explanation for those dyno #s though...

Wait, you're making 350whp on GMS1?

Adding an intake onto GMS1 should hardly make any difference at all. It's like a custom tune magically appeared on your ECU, and a very aggressive one at that.

did you buy the car used and have the cruise control button on when you got the 350whp by chance?

I did get the car used, but again those crazy numbers came from 13.5 lean condition. I always keep the cruise switch on. And it made 270 300 in cincy with a normal a/f readings before the intake install. Im just wondering if the altitude change and intake could have caused the difference with the di style engine.

I built a 2010 turbo camaro ss and my numbers didnt change too much comming to colorado.

Okay try this..

Go on a drive and get on it twice, once with the criuse control on and once with the criuse control off

If there is a difference in boost and power then u'll know if you are trifecta tuned or not lol

Hey guys sorry its been a minute sense i added to this thread but i trued the cruze control and it didnt change the eay the car runs.

I took the cold air off and redynoed it. The car made 280whp and 360wtq with the a/f never going below 13.2

I dont feel comfortable driving the car hard and talkingnto a dealer they said without sendung the ecu to gm they cant sre if its been after market tuned.

Im not claiming anything justnstating the facts as they have been presented to me. As well as stating my concerns and trying to get it resolved.

Thanks Ben
