PCV valve snapped off intake. HELP!!! (have pics)

https://www.cobaltss.net/gallery/fil...1/6/8/jeep.jpg

As you can see, this is a huge problem. I was wondering if i need to buy
a whole new pcv valve, intake, or both. I'm not sure if that little black
piece in the pcv valve is part of it and the intake, or just the intake.
I havnt tried pulling it out yet. So, before i do anything else wrong,
someone please let me know what i should do about this. Thx in advance. :]

Seems like most do it putting in the air filter. Follow the suggestion made earlier about taking it in for a CEL and claiming you don't know what's wrong. It really is a crappy design. You can try and epoxy the tube back on like others have done for a temp fix, but you'd be better off taking it in.

Thats what happend with mine. I barely had the cover off my intake and the hose came flying off. I took that little piece out off the pcv line and apoxy'd it back in place. Works just fine for me. I've had no problems in months.

They didn't warranty mine...because of "how it broke"

this is what I would do. Do let them think you broke it

the dealership told me I had to buy that whole part of the intake and it was like 70 something dollars...

^^ sometimes.

But back OT, whoever would removed the filter without removing the pvc line is just asking for trouble. I always gently pull it off while rotating it at the same time since I know the plastic nipple is weak.

Just a note here for anyone asking "how are people breaking these". I got home yesterday and noticed my car making a strange noise as I got out to open the garage door. Get out and pop the hood to find mine has snapped like a twig in the same manner as the OP's. This was fine when I left home so somewhere along the way it randomly decided to let go. Inspecting it I agree, this is an absolute shitty design; the nipple is too small and made from cheap plastic, how is this expected to hold?

I'll be off to the dealer's Monday and currently the exposed hole is heavily wrapped in electrical tape. It looks like the nipple snapped clean so I'm hoping plastic never made it into the tube and through my turbo.

****, the elbow will be here tomorrow, the PCV is going to take 3 or 4 days to make it from the US! Thank god for electrical tape, everything is sealed off but I still don't wanna drive it a whole lot...good thing it decided to randomly fail in town instead of on the highway, no emergency electrical tape handy at the time

The stupid F mechanic broke mine and said I did it. He was looking at the MAF sensor and filter. I showed him I know how to turn the little white thing and take it off. What a moron--Stark Motors Sun Prairie WI. Having waranty sucks about half the time. They did not fix it. GM dealers Su#k.

LE5 High Flow Intake flow mandrel bent aluminum tube for me.
Oh yea using a beter non GM-part voids yous sh#t as Warranty.

I had the same thing happen to my 08 SS/TC with 52,000mi - went to the stealership and paid $80 bucks to replace the one that broke only to see that ZZP has a better quality one for about the same price(with shipping included)
