so im installing a powell V3 separator and while i have the IM off for tapping im gonna remove that plastic useless vacuum tank but im getting some conflicting information as far as how to properly run the vacuum lines for the delete. ive seen 2 different pictures both with everyone saying its the right way. WELL WHICH IS IT??
these are the 2 different ways ive seen.
the solstice actually has the lines setup like in the first picture and that car doesnt have the vacuum tank so im leaning more towards that way of routing things. also, that main IM line is where im teed off for my boost gauge. will i have any issues with it once i delete the tank?
You'll have to zoom it in, as I didn't have a closer pic. I've had mine like this to my BPV for ~2yrs now without issue.
All 3 ports on the solenoid are tied together with a T, and the manifold is going to the valve. I had it set up this way after porting the cap to my Forge, and stuffing it in my replacement Z54.
I've has mine bypassed since 2012 like this. Maybe both methods work, I'm not sure. I simply connected the two ports that had hoses leading to and from the vacuum tank.

could be possible both ways work yep. im liking this way better since it is also the way gm did it from factory on the solstice.
thank you guys for the replies! is there anything i should expect to see or feel at first when i bypass the tank? dont wanna get caught by surprise.

Theoretically the vacuum tank is supposed to help reduce turbo lag but I honestly didn't notice any difference. As you know the Solstice/Sky doesn't have one.
I first rerouted mine to fix the vacuum leak I had after splitting the vacuum tank open at the road track They replaced the tank under warranty but I never hooked it back up.
