quick release tool

Just bought the quick release tool so I can hook up my catch can.
Now, to get off the fuel line, which size do I use and how do I hook it up, I am unsure how to do this.

Thanks in advance

Why are you removing a fuel line?

That isn't a fuel line brotha. That line is notoriously a pain to get off though. The skinny end of a few zip ties pushed in there should help to release the tangs holding the line on. If that doesn't work for ya, then screw it. Do like SSlobalt said and just cut it off with a cutoff wheel or hack saw..

I tried the zip-tie method for a while and never had success with it. Fuel line removal tools do not fit so the last resort I had was cut it. This is how I did it.

Unbolt the flange from the turbo that it attaches to. Cut the end off the valve cover and then cut it off the flange that bolts to the turbo like so:

Furthermore, it took some prying to get it off the valve cover because I couldn't cut it at all the spots like I could on the turbo side so I had to bend and pry the metal with a screwdriver lol.

I wiggled mine as much as possible to get a little play in it, then went under the car, took a long flathead screwdriver, and just tapped it off. The metal tabs are pretty thin, and easy to bend and FUBAR with just a screwdriver and a mallet.

It still ***** the line, but whatever.

There has to be a tool for this. What do techs do if they have to change a valve cover out or a turbo?

It's listed as a non-serviceable item. Techs do like we're doing. They cut if off and put a new one on. Stupid, I know.

Best thing to do if you can't get it off it get a flat head screwdriver and place it on the lip of the line and tap it off with hammer. I had to reform the metal grippers that hold it onto the valve cover but it went back on no problem and grips just as good as it did before it came off.

I remove them all the time. Once you know how its easy but like one poster said, its listed as non serviceable. Its why we do powdercoated rocker covers on exchange. Just remove the fitting at the turbo and leave the rest to us lol

Unless it's oil resistant silicone, this is not a good place to use silicone. Typical silicone hoses are not oil resistant, and thus break down.

agreed. If you have to have a catch can, remove nipple, tap and thread in an 1/8 npt dash 6 male fitting and use braided aeroquip lines...

I actually removed the pipe from my valve cover by turning it back and forth. Will not work on all . Some are tighter than others. Used 2 mini flat head screwdrivers to release the tangs on the fitting

I just used this method today and it worked great. It came off very easily and I spent about 10 minutes straightening out the tabs before re-installing it. It re-installed without issue and is on nice and tight. If I need to take it off again I'll have to replace the hose though; I doubt I will be able to bend the tabs a second time without them breaking.
