Rattlebox ....

To bad every road isn't smooth when I drive my CSS . Thing rattles like a **** over bumps.
Taking car in friday was wondering if anyone else has had rattling issues in the interior that they have had fixed or tried to have fixed and were not.
No joke I hear them from my dash/radio area, sunroof, rear deck, and passenger door.
I understand I bought a cobalt but still does everything need to rattle?
Radio fix isnt working anymore I hear them over radio .
Doesnt sound like control arm bushings which i know is common with our cars.

I have annoying sound that seems like it may be coming through my speakers, sounds like a whine, and No its not the supercharger.. lol.

I also have an annoying rattle coming from the back deck only at certain rpms does it seem to rattle, and its the RPMs I most commonly cruise at.

Stripping my car down this weekend and tightening every bolt and every possible thing that could rattle and I'm gonna see what that does.

I also have a really annoying squeak that popped up this week in my back right wheel, Im thinking its something hitting the rotor off the brake pad because it stops sqeaking as soon as any amount of pressure is applied to the breaks.

Anyone else had or solved problems with interior rattles ? They are driving me crazy when I drive in the city with bumps everywhere. Anything common just wondering where to start at . Just got some felt tape tongiht and im thinking rear deck would be pretty easy to check compared to the sunroof .

My rear deck where my rear speakers mount rattles horribly especially with my t1 playing. Im planning on putting rear buckets in place of the ugly bench and in the process sound deadening everything. at least that will be one rattle fixed

I don't know what it is about all the rattling complaints.
I've had my car since 8K miles..now 15K. Not a single rattle....dead quiet. I was expecting some rattle before I got the car, based on what I read here. Guess I got lucky? I have Pedders on too....stiffer than stock.

1.) It's a Cobalt, lots of plastic on plastic

2.) Somewhat stiff suspension, it's built to handle not be comfy cozy like brand X

3.) It's getting cooler... This always contributes to more rattles, regardless of the car make/model

4.) Stiff/Lack of a "cushioning" sidewall + 18" rims

Hopefully this helps to shed some light.

yeah my dash rattles. it sounds like it comes from over my passenger side airbag. i can be seen slapping my dash quite frequently in desperation for it to shut the **** up. also my A/C has now begun to make a humming noise that it used to not do. also annoying. i seriously am thinking about ripping the dash off and stuffing foam everywhere to hold everything in place lmao just kidding

this specific rattle is caused by two metal clips that hold the rear carpet deck in place. You can see them if you stick your head in your trunk and look around a bit.

I took some of the 3M foam tape that has double sided adhesive and put a small piece between the clip and the part of the trunk it clips too. fixed the rattle and helped out a ton.

Another thing i did was epoxy those stupid flip covers for the baby seat anchor points. those damn things start vibrating too.

I had the same thing, but it was a squeek directly over my airbag, and you can actually press it in certain spots and it would make the same sound...

Turned out the airbag wasn't installed properly.. they fixed, now gone

but going into dealership this week for another rattle... ready.... for it... headliner.... ready for it again..... I have no sunroof lol

My car is pretty much rattle free after I had the onstar rear view mirror replaced . The RV was so annoying .... it sounded like a nails on a chalk board. It wasn't the mounting hardware , it was the plastic mirror housing itself ..... next time you hear a chirping noise grab the RV and squeeze it , could be a problem for others.

I have one annoying rattle and its coming from the console panel that's right near the gas pedal. Sound emanates through the lower radio/cup holder area. Other than that, rattle free.

38.5k miles. plenty of rattling here. I hate the "space bar" noise my sun roof makes.

I keep alot of change in my cup holder so that when I here **** vibrating, my change vibrates as well and then I think all the noise is just coming from the change. It works for me
