A rear mystery rattle solved...

WELL if your balt is anything like mine there is a plastic rattle that sounds like it's coming from the rear windshield area anytime you go over uneven road/bumps/listen to real bassy music. I know this is an econobox on steroids so I lived with it but lately it's gotten BAD and it was driving me INSANE. Even with the music turned up I could still hear it...I heard this damn noise in my nightmares...lol.

Anyways, I found the bastard that's causing the rattle, or bastards I should say. Those little black plastic things on either side of the rear windshield that I'm assuming are part of the rear defroster system...go flick one and see what kinda noise it makes...THE SAME DAMN NOISE I'VE BEEN DEALING WITH. It seems like it's coming from the outer casing so I just wedged a few tiny pieces of clear doublestick tape between the outer plastic piece and the windshield and BOOM, no more noise...yeayuh. Hopefully it helps someone else out who was having the same problem.

i was gonna say watch what happens when you turn the defogger on.

mine does that too...traced it down to the seat latch...try folding down the smaller half of the back seat...if that solves it then you can fold the seat back up just dont latch it, works for me

Do they just pop off? I tugged on one a little and it seemed like i was going to rip the whole thing off, do you need to pry it with a screwdriver or something? Either way I'm just happy the noise is gone, it was driving me effing nuts.

I got a better rattle! Sounds like a wire coat hanger in my drivers side window well is slapping around (where the window rolls down into) Sometimes rattles, sometimes it don't, sometimes on bumps sometimes on the road! I want a new drivers side door lol but I really don't care anymore!
