replacement battery
replacement battery
well my car is currently stored and about a week before i put it away for the winter, the battery was done for it. i was planning on buying a battery here in the next week.
i would like to buy a optima yellow top battery but i dont think its worth 200$. i can get a discount from a local parts store (carquest) and all the battery is,is a carquest brand battery. i dont know much about batteries, but the carquest battery should work just fine,i was more curious what a decent battery would be to buy? i want to be bale to pick it up same day and i dont think any auto stores carry AC delco batteries.
suggestions?f

I ran a kinetic 1400 maybe. I forget the name in my old lt. It was amazing could play music for an hour and it wouldn't die lol. I need something new my self. By the time my trifecta tune loads my battery is dead
I actually manage a carquest store and their batteries are made by decka eastpen and honestly not just cause i work there but the batteries are very good and depending on what model battery your getting it comes with a 2 or 3 yr free replacement. I dont have my cobalt nemore but when i did i installed a extreme series battery which is a gel type that you can mount however you want in the car. they have good reserve time as well as good cca and ca. The part number is NG3478. I also use that in my 500whp mustang that i only drive prolly about 3k miles a year and it sits most of the time and i have never had any problems with it. IMO the extreme series carquest battery is worth the money and you will prolly have better luck with that than the yellow top.
yea,ive used plenty of fleet farm batteries at work and they do just fine in genie lifts at my work. i may have to talk to matt and get one from car quest,i think he usually hooks it up with employee pricing. i want it to get warm out so i can put the damn thing in when i get it in the next day or so. so i can start my car lol i wana hear her purrr

yea, iill prolly end up buying a carquest battery this week and put it in next weekend. we are getting into the cold stretch of winter and its guna be nippley this week.
i compounded/wax/kaerosened it before i put her away,i dont want to wash it or even drive it lol but i know just starting it up wont do much,i would have to drive it around for a while to give the new battery a full charge.

Had to replace my stock AC Delco battery today. Disappointed as it was just 4+ years old.
I live in Canada and got a MotoMaster MOT90 battery from Canadian Tire for $125 (taxes in).
It fit very nicely: the vent was built in and it strapped up nicely.
Canadian Tire will also test your old battery and give you a printed report for free just to be sure it is the battery dying or not.
- 3 year replacement warranty (not pro-rated); pro-rated after 3 years
- Cdn Tire will jump start the battery in the first 3 or 5 years of ownership under their Cdn Tire Auto Club
The week before I had my local GM dealer replace an air bag sensor for $330. The day after the "Service Airbag" light went on again; I was asked if the car didn't start due to a bad battery because that can apparently trigger a "Service Airbag" message. It didn't that day but now I wonder if it did momentarily and I didn't notice. Food for thought...
