The more I see that sport red color on these, the more I wish I got one. Ultimately, I wanted a white one... but they couldn't find one anywhere with all the toys. But that red is SEX!

I lucked out on my sedan and got it with every single available option. And black is pretty sweet, too.

 

Good I haven't had my TPMS since about 3k miles

Also my transmission said LSD right on the transmission tag when I took it out to install the clutch

 

There is a sticker under the trunk carpet by the subwoofer that just lifts right up. Look for G85 on that. The Vin decodes are usually pretty good but the sticker is the final word on RPO's.

 

Don't use the launch control unless you get a trifecta tune. Stock launch control at 5k is a worthless waste of your tires.

 

I really wanted sport red ...... and there was one parked right next to my car ....both brand new ....the sport red one didn't have G85 . My two deal breakers were Had to have LSD and no sunroof . There were like 4-5 different colors in the area ...IMP. Blue was my second choice ....again no G85 . It kinda sucked because i didn't want another black cobalt .

A white HHR SS would have been pure sex, maybe some day I will get mine repainted white.

Mine actually came from Nashville, my dealer traded a Z71 off road for it.

 

I didn't even get a choice. At the time I was buying there were no SS's around my area. I knew I wanted a Sedan in white with every option. I mean everything. So I had 2 choices... a yellow coupe or a black sedan. I could have gotten one shipped from bumblefuck somewhere but I was very picky about how many miles were on it to begin with (I didn't want anyone touching it )

So I opted for the black sedan with every option and only 4 miles on it. Still... maybe I should have waited for that red or a white one haha.

 

I got lucky. I wanted the SRTC, and I wanted a used one. I found a 6-month old used SRTC with 3K miles on it for 15.8K.....................at CARMAX of all places. I had to have it shipped to me for 400 dollars, but it was still a steal.

The OP's car is Crystal Red Metallic, though, not SRTC.

White, with rear window delete.

Wasn't my bag, but I can understand the love.

According to the breakdown GM put out on the production numbers by color .... they have it as 08-09's being sport red tintcoat but who knows..... maybe it was changed .

You're right. That is an SRTC. Crystal wasn't until 2010. I learn something new every day.

 

Just VIN searched my new car. My sticker does not say G85, but my VIN says I have it.. My VIN breakdown states there are 1675 vehicles that match my year and model. Here are some of my options (I did not post the options all 1675 had).

Crystal red is 2010 only...Sport red was from 07-09
they are pretty close in color (especially when clean and in sunlight)

I advertised it in the local forums but not here, don't see to many USA ers flocking up here to buy our cars lol

but its for sale and is immaculate....17,500 miles right now and has been kept in winter storage ( heated @ approx 58 degrees ) every winter, underneath is as good as new.

 

So, I decided to buy the K&N intake. I also decided to buy a catted downpipe.

What are my choices with catted downpipes?

Then, need to figure out who tunes this baby. I am excited. Would like to order everything this weekend and tune asap.

Only other immediate mod I see is lowering springs. Need to even the stance without it being too low.

 

If it doesn't say G85 on the sticker, it doesn't have LSD. You cannot use a VIN search for this. That's why people tell you to look for G85. That's the correct way to identify it.

I don't know why they even bothered to make this car with non-LSD.
