My 05 Cobalt SS just hit the **** and I'm looking for a new car. Came acrossed a 2009 Cobalt SS/TC with 102k miles on it for $4k. Only issue is that the guy says it is leaking oil, and he thinks it is from the turbo. Is it worth buying?

thats a good price tho. I sold my 08 SS/TC with 105k for 7k back in 2015.

 

That is a good price, almost too good to be true.

 

brand new turbo is only $450 if that's the problem. you can source used ko4 lines off here or a part out on facebook (i may have some). $4k can't really go wrong if it's running driving car.

Things to look for:
Signs of other leaks (boost leaks, coolant leaks)
how much does it boost? (15psi stock, 20psi GMS1, anything else custom)
Does turning cruise control off/on change tune (Trifecta; you'll need a new ECU)

 

Or is the trans ready to shear off 3rd gear.....

 

too bad its in Wisconsin. I'd buy it and get rid of my LSJ
