Yellow with high rise bro!

And yeah turbo'd.... save up for snow tires bro... with a tune and mods, and a old set of stock contis... this coming up winter is going to be.... well... dangerous for you... I know I almost slid into oncoming traffic and rear ended people wayyyy to many times this past winter.

I just don't have a thousand dollars for 17s and tires. ( snow)

Once I learned to slip the clutch out I stopped smoking my stock conti's through 1st and 2nd. Fastest time fully stock has been a 14.5. Right now Vince from Trifecta is tweaking a tune for me. Can't wait till he gets it the way he wants it. living in high altitude is a pain in the butt.

Drove up the mountain a couple weeks back. There are NO straighaways on that road. All twists, turns, and horse shoe shaped bends. Cobalt took em all at 60mph. Probably coulda pushed it harder, but I'm not a pro driver one bit.

Your more likely to bang a double jointed stripper named CANDY ........ than find a SS/TC in white or IP Blue with the options you want.

...another option...when i went to buy my TC coupe, i had a choice between the coupe or the sedan. come to find out, the sedan would have been $20 cheaper a month for me (i'm 37 and have a clean record) for insurance. AND the sedan is 5 mph faster on top speed compared to the coupe...(but no need to try it!). so there is something else to rattle your brain on...good luck! either way...you will have a fun car on your hands when you do pull the trigger....

...plus, i bought it in black! looks sweet WHEN clean!...

Is it faster than a coupe with a low wing or is it faster because the park bench hi rise?

thanks guys...I expect the test drive to seal the deal as well...

I would love a black ss, if the silver was of a darker shade I would be all over it trust me, it just seems to plasticy and lame. I would immediately go wingless if it all works out...and I would demand them not to drill the front bumper for the plates....

Yep, I should have my 2009 Cobalt SS very soon. I autocross a bunch and had a Mini S for a few years and loved it, but then the Mini's did so well that they bumped up us a class into range of Acura ITR, Audi TT, R32, and Cobalt SS/TC. After debating of staying in the dominate Mini or getting a new ride, I decided to hop in a fellow racer's 2009 Cobalt SS on new R-compound racing tires about 2 months ago. I've NEVER had a car that loved to predictably rotate like that.....and don't get me started on the LSD. I had a GKN LSD in my Mini and couldn't even tell it was there. I'd just roast the inside wheel and have to spend extra cash on replacing the pricey Rcompoud slicks. The LSD on these Cobalts is a true LSD. Instead of traction control interfering, like it did in my Mini, this thing uses that LSD and keeps your pace while your back end stays in line. For a FWD, it's driving nirvana. Although, like any FWD, you'll have some understeer, but with a proper driver, you can avoid it with speed correction. I'll have some video in a month or so to show you guys.

You'll see me in a white one with LSD and a display

I have a test drive scheduled for tomorrow around 12..The only thing I have concerns with is the FWD...everything about this car I am very impressed with. I have been reading about this car and following some threads on here for about 7 months and I think I am ready to go.

I just hope the fwd doesn't turn me off, I drove my moms g6 gt a lot, I never had any major problems with the fwd except for the under steer...But then again we are talking two different cars.

Anything to look out for that I don't know yet?

I pretty much know everything I want, what options, color etc etc..I just need to get rid of the fwd block in my head..I know I will want to add power down the road when I have the money, but will the fwd be alright? Traction?
If you are buying a Car for handling, I wouldn't be getting ANY FWD car. I dont care how many nicer cars it beat around the ring.

If you are going to buy a car for handling go buy a Miata or a WRX.

Sure its going to handle better than any other FWD car. The ring has a lot of straights, The cobalt is actually surprisingly fast from a roll (103-104 MPH Traps) A Mach 1 traps around 105-106 Stock and an LS1 GTO traps around 105 stock. The car is no slouch in the straights and decent around turns which is why it runs such a good time.

A WRX that traps 103-104 would beat a Stock TC around the Track. IMO.

If you are into road racing the SS/TC is the bargain of the year! NOTHING els comes close for the money. I've been racing mine in competition and is cleaning up everytime.

It can out handle a stock STI if you know what you are doing. Go get one, you won't be sorry.

WRX is a pig, and won't beat a Cobalt SS/TC around a track stock to stock. I autocross and do tracking, and this new Cobalt is the best bang for your buck out there. On the track the Cobalt is edging out the WRX by a bigger gap than most would've thought. On the Autocross courses, the gap is even bigger. Yes, it'll push through the corners if you're coming into it too hot....but so does the WRX. I would never buy a WRX over a cobalt at this point. Although, if you're going for mods, then it's a completely different story. With a few tweaks from the COBB boys, your WRX becomes a lean mean turning machine.

As for the Miata, yeah, it's a great car, but not practical as a daily driver. I still wouldn't blame anyone for picking up one though.

You shouldn't have any problem getting payments 300-350. I put $3500 down and with the family incentive plus the supplier discount it came out to around $20000 in January. I got the sport tint coat (FTW!!!) and lsd. My payment is $356 and that's with a 6.5% rate. I'm going to refi it to 4.99% really soon, and the payment will be about $320. Shop around for a rate, you can easily find one in the 5's.

Or you could buy a used 5K mile Cobalt SS Turbo for 15K with a 5-7% rate and put 2K down and pay 295 a month.
