With a more tq offered lower...this car in stock form will be doing 13s.
Then the no lift shift...the only people who think the SS/TC will be slower than S2 SS/SC are SS/SC owners...
Although the SS/TC will be dominately quicker than mildly modified SS/SC's, I dont think people are going to get a whole lot out of the TC's.
I was at work today and decided to test drive a Solstice GXP (Same motor).
Although she scoots, ive been in SS/SC's that seem to pull ALOT harder.
The turbo assembly is extremely well designed, however I think that this is semi a bad move into the genre. Why?
Think about it.
Cobalts came out with very little aftermarket support. It was well over a year before we saw stage kits, and aftermarket upgrades. Plus, so many issues with the cars.
Now they phased out the 2.0 LSJ. Yes, the 2.0 LNF has been out for years, but not in this setup. It will be the same game for aftermarket companies to see how well the LNF cobalt sells for, and how many of the people are interested in tuning them.
Im sure HAHN is doing backflips now that the 2.0 LNF cobalt is coming out, as he has built MANY fast LNF solstices.
But in reality, I dont think people will get as much out of them as they want for a reasonable price.
You can pretty much expect stage kits to run well over $1k, as the turbos in them are relatively tiny, and that would be one of the first major upgrades.

brand new the ss/tc and ss/sc are basicallty the same price. as far as hp/tq numbers go a stock ss/tc puts out around the same as the average modded ss/sc. i think right off the bat its a good deal at a reasonable price. little mods and stage kits would make the ss/tc surpass the modded ss/sc numbers. so in all actuallity you will end up spending the same money and getting more out of it.
Because I never once said that a ST 2 SC would be faster than a SS/T.
It's definitely gonna be close though, as some ST 2 SC's have also run 13's.
