Stage Kit Install Problems

I have searched and could not find the answere I needed. When I go to the dealer to have the stage kit installed I would like to point out to the tech any possible problems he may run into in order to prevent problems during install. So far I have found that none of the dealers in my area have any experience with installs. Thanks

To be honest, most dealers don't seem to want to hear your input on how a job is done on a car. I had the same problem today explaining this kit does not take 4 hours to install, and they were thinking of the SS/SC stage kit install. I finally got them to the point where we agreed the techs would look at it and tell me if it's going to take over 2 hours to finish (which it shouldn't). You can try to tell the service guy or get a tech out to tell him the problems he may run into, but whether they listen or not is another story.

I read the instructions that came with mine, they're pretty much plain as day. As long as you don't have a complete retard working on your car, there should be no problem, the install is very straight forward. Just make sure he removes the boss off the Tmap on the air inlet, which is mentioned in the instructions anyway.

None of the dealers in my area had experience with installing stage kits either. The dealer I went to originally thought I wanted them to put a turbo kit on --they didn't even know the LNF was turbocharged, haha.

Well my dealer kept me waiting for 8 hours before coming to tell me they couldn't get one sensor to fit in between the fan right because the angle is totally different from stock. I have hard pipes and it only took me about 5 min to borrow their air ratchet, adjust the pipe and pop it in. If they'd said something earlier it would have been easy, it's just a pride thing. If you're all stock, it should be super easy for them if they read the directions. They only charged me $82 because it was quoted as a 1 hour install. Flash takes 30 min tops, and the 2 sensors another 30 min. If you want you can do the sensors yourself and just do the flash there, same warranty.

Things to watch out for in the install is the proper pin to pin wire crimps. The biggest problem are miss/incorrectly wired sensors. Second most build problem is the o-ring change on the sensors. The new o-rings are tight and there have been issues with breaking or splitting the o-ring. The final thing to watch out for is the close clearance of the TMAP sensor in the intercoo duct to the ac compressor. The intercooler tube may have to be fitted further onto the intercooler to provide adequate clearance.

Thanks for the tips. I'll be sure to keep these in mind when I'm doing the install on Sunday evening. I'll be taking the car for a reflash Monday morning.

I seriously advise against this. Clamp has to go right at the barb or you'll be sorry.

sub'd. this is solid info. Now theres no issues with putting on the sensors/installing the stage kit then taking it to the dealer right? Like the car will drive fine with the new unflashed sensors until i get to the dealer?

Your supposed to stay out of boost as much as possible or you'll throw cel And go into limp mode. The dealer will clear it when they flash it but it will be Anoying as he'll drivig at like 30 no boost
