Stripped bpv bolt

Years ago I stripped one of the 3 bolts. I have seen a bunch of other people have done this too. I haven't messed with the bpv at all after that. I screwed it in when the turbo was hot. Not a smart idea. It must have had 1 thread left because the bolt finally worked its way out. My question is do you think it will be fine with only 2 bolts? Or is there something you would recommend? I'm sure it will be fine since it's been 2 years but lately I've had that feeling where the bpv seems to lock up and need to be broken free. I have the forge bpv and it's always done that but usually when it's cold... It's quite warm right now. I would be interested in a new turbo anyway but I have almost 80k miles and I don't want to put a tone into it. I have full bolt on. Could I get an upgraded turbo for a max of 1200 in parts? I would like the 257 but I think that would cost more with the parts required. Really I would like to stay under 1000 but I think that's completely undoable. I have heard of people putting a sleeve in the hole but for that much work and money I could just get a new turbo. That's my thought behind it.

Dude, use the enter button.

That being said with your budget you're looking at a KO4R.

The forge unit needs to be greased for continued operation.

I just swapped turbos so I have all the stock parts from my 2010. If you are interested I could sell you whatever you needed. PM me.

Yeah that's the one turbo everyone says is a huge waste of money though. Super expensive for the tiny gain. But yeah that was a good suggestion. Thank you. Also I always grease it. Like twice a year or more. That's on the outside though. I don't need to take the 3 screws out to grease that.

I screwed up a few threads on mine too back in the day, I use a slightly bigger bolt, and I always blue locktighted all 3 to make sure they don't back off.

So did you just force in a bigger bolt? Do you know the size?
