Stumbling issues while engine is cold

Hey guys,

So I just started having this issue on my LNF. During warm up phase of the engine, I noticed the other day that the engine started to stumble on itself. What I mean is the engine felt like it was misfiring or something similar to that feeling. After giving it gas and driving it had no issues, didnt fall on its face and accepted boost no problem (didnt test cold waited till 160 degrees to put boost).

The only thing I could think of is I just recently put in a K and N drop in and the intake mod. (stock tune atm) I am in the process of purchasing the Hp tuner, however, I heard on here that the oil can get on the Maf sensor causing issues. I was going to clean that off with good Maf cleaner, and also pull the throttle body off and clean that just to make sure that it isnt collecting gunk.

After its warm the car never stumbles or hicups at all. Its only when its cold Think im in the right direction? or should I be concerned?

Stumbling issues while engine is cold

Seems to be a pretty common issue on the LNF
for me any boost or any real throttle until 170 and itl hesitate
occasionally during start up people have seen the rpm jump up and down happens to me randomly
the maf and tb are good places to start i would also consider valve gunk as a possible issue
i wouldnt be overly concerned many people have had various little things happen when the engine is cold

Yeah I just read that as I was doing something googling. I guess I'll try the two things with tb and maf. If it doesn't fix it I'll look at the valves. But I'll probably wait for that when I get my hot and cold side pipes. As I'll have it apart. The car has 92,000 miles on it so it's time

I had the same issue with my LNF. I never figured out what it was but I think it was from my intake valves having so much build up on them.

one other thing i thought of is the ac
i dont know if youve been using yours but when the car is in cat warm up mode it doesn't allow the ac compressor to start for a little while. with my car any time the ac compressor starts it feels like the engine misses, it drops rpm and the spikes high before settling.

when the valves are really coked you should feel misfires in the seat.

90k is pretty much gunked as hell. I may do mine again this summer.

Why didn't you get Powell's air/oil separator after last time?

Because Powell hasn't finalized his design evidenced by yesterdays post that he has a new revision.

I have all the tools and shells to do the job so it's only another 6-8hrs of my time at no extra cost.
