Superchips
reliable??? lol. How is the SC not reliable now. as the first person on the site (don't **** with me i know i was lol) i have yet to have a prob???
I have done all three, I settled on the new trifecta tune, its awesome also vince custom tunes via logs, Superchips gave up on the Cobalt a long time ago apparently.
(Also my car would run rough every now and then with the SCtune)
As the only person to have DYno'd all three tunes (SC Tune HP tune, and the Trifecta tune.), the trifecta tune produces better fuel tables. The SC tune runs pretty rich. Do you forget I was the only guy in this thread to frequently test the SC tune?

The superchips programer is decent . For what you get with it.....the data logger , code reader/clearer and the ability to flash back to stock , or it's ability to tune other car's and trucks when your done with it ...I think it's a decent buy. I bet it turns out to make more power than the stage kit ....by a good bit. My car has ran great with it , just got back from a 1000 mile trip without any issues.

Well, seems I have ALMOST followed in your footsteps. I have owned the Superchips tune for about 1-2 weeks before I switched to the "regular" Trifecta tune, and finally the switchable tune.
I must say that the Trifecta tune is better over the Superchips tune. Drivability was the deciding factor. The Superchips tune always wanted to be in boost and the throttle was VERY sensitive. Give it some gas around a corner BAM 15psi and you get PULLED around the corner by torque steer.
The Trifecta tune (both of them) have drivability as good if not better than stock. The switch tune is great for me because I have a 105 mile round trip to work everyday, and it considerably helps in bad weather. Don't want 22psi when it is raining, front wheel drive or not!
I have not dyoed any of the tunes, left that up to you drewbroo! But I can say that the switch Trifecta and regular Trifecta feel the same. Very powerful, very drivable. I am 110% satisfied!
Vince is on vacation (he needs it!!!) but when he gets back I am going to datalog for him and see if he tweaks my tune at all. I don't think it needs it, but we will see.
Trifecta FTW!!
i have the superchips cortex and a hahn intake and i ran a 13.45@105 and stock i ran a 13.9 @ 102 it made a pretty big diff in how the car runs i beat a cobalt tuned with hp tuners not by much i think he ran a 13.55
Nice . I've been trying to get to the track to see what i can pull off but the weather in my area hasn't cooperated the last couple of weeks . 13.4o's are quite respectable.
ok well i found out something cool the other day.... If you dont know already I had superchips before i bought trifecta. Over the last few days the temps have been cold and rainy and my clutch has been fussy early in the AM, I decided to load up the superchips because i didnt want all that power, and i love my lowend. So I flashed the Superchips over the stealth trifecta tune.
I crossed my fingers that i wasnt gonna hurt my ecu, sure enough it didnt, BUT....
The selectable tune still works, only that comp mode engages the superchips tune... may have to keep the cortex.... pretty sweet

yup flashed superchips over the trifecta, and stealth mode functionality works!
TC on = Stock
TC off = Stock
Comp mode = Superchips
ESC off= Superchips
I may keep the superchips for a few reasons...
-Road trip fuel economy, simply awesome
-Cold/wet weather, 300wtq is plenty powerful, 340 sometimes is overkill
-Keeps my clutch and tire wear in check.
If its over 60 degrees, i rock the trifecta. If its less Ill rock the SC tune

that doesnt mean that you the SC tune is better than hptuners. Sont get me wrong that SC tune is good and all but hptuners is nice. JUst means that you are a better driver that is all.
You could put a monkey in the drivers seat and he could win and ppl would still ramble about the driver mod?
I've had my SuperChips tune for about 6 weeks now, and I'm really happy with it. I'm getting about 5 extra pounds of boost and it comes on quicker and earlier. The car feels much faster, with ability to spin the tires from a 40 mph roll being especially fun
The throttle is more sensitive but it's easy to get used to. Other tunes may make a bit more power, but my car is plenty fast enough for me now - it lunges towards the horizon in 2nd gear and gets up to silly speeds (100+ mph) way too easily. This tune is the best $400 I've ever spent on a car. Note that I've got an HHR SS and for some reason the gains are supposed to be significantly higher on the HHR than the Cobalt - perhaps it's all in the intake?

yes faster is faster. but if you raced someone with hptuners that could drive you would lose sorry to tell you. SC is a good tune but nothing like hptuners. The driver has alot to do with it. i know about 5cars that are dyno tuned by hptuners and they are going 12.9 with just the tune and intake and charge piping. once a see a time from SC with those mods running that time. then ok.
