Supposed fuel connector

Has anyone successfully removed the braided line going from your valve cover (far left)? If so, how did you do it? I've tried my hand at both the small flat bladed screw driver and the fuel line disconnect tool unsuccessfully. Any tips, tricks or pics would be much appreciated.

Was hoping that would be a "worst case" deal but it's almost come down to that.

Just grind that bitch off and put on rubber hose. It works better anyways, don't forget a check valve to put in there.

Somebody on here successfully uses one of the Ford fuel filter removal tools to get it off. I don't remember who it was.

Had a tool but it was too long. Ended up doing it the savage way but it's getting too dark, too fast so I couldn't finish the catch can.

I just pry it off with a large flat head screwdriver. It bends the inner tabs back, but they can be straightened or the insert can be replaced.
