Test Drive

So the dealer I've been talking to finally got a white ss/tc in with the high rise, lsd, rpd, usb, and all black interior, so im going to check out friday. Heres the dilemma, havn't driven a stick in 6 months, and don't want to look like a complete tool. Is the cobalt pretty easy to drive, and is there anything further I should know before I hop in the drivers seat?

1st gear is real short shift to second right away or taking to redline in 1st is real easy to do ... just bring it to 2 grand and let it out slow let off throttle slowly to get the feel for it man... Its a little weird at first but you'll get it ... 3rd gear is real tall and you can go from 3rd to 5th real easy 4th is pretty much if you want to race. I barely use it Dont even screw with the traction button. ( launch control ) doesn't do jack .... Depends on how cool the guy is you are test driving with, I was with some young punk brand new at the dealership and took it to about 100 right away ... 1st gear is like wtf all I can say

The clutch is VERY touchy..just beware..it's not anything you can't handle. Just seems like it wants to shoot your foot away after you let out half way.

well said, Also if you arent familiar with turbo cars if you let the rpm range get into the 3000+ range HOLD THE HELL ON. I wasn't expecting it to be honest... I was expecting something but was suprised ....

x2

That pedal is something else. The one i test drove liked to stick at the bottom and then would pop up.

Yeah Exactly. I mean I liked it..but compared to my S/C's clutch being real heavy, this is just totally different, it just takes some getting used to..like everything else!

when i drove one, it seemed to me 1st gear was a little tall and requires some throttle to get going.

but i am more used to driving v8 manual cars..been moving alot of challengers lately..srt8s don't require any throttle to roll.
