Test Drive: 2010 Cobalt SS ---WITH--- GM Stage 1
I've got this posted on several threads but I'll give a brief answer here. I called Enkei and spoke with King, the lead customer service rep. He told me about a brand new series of wheels that should be released around the end of Sept. The wheels will be part of the "Race Wheel" line weighing in the neighborhood of 16# depending on size. As it stands now the 18"X8" is 16#. Enkei hasn't made any final decisions on applications (bolt patterns and offsets). Because we are but only a few, in the big scheme of things, using the 5X110 pattern, they are reluctant to make that wheel. But if we can show enough demand for this wheel they WILL CONSIDER it, as opposed to FORGET IT. King himself is pushing for this wheel for us but he needs for us show the boss there is enough interest to justify tooling up for it. The wheel would, possibly, be available in a 17#X8# or wider, that because it is in the Race line would probably clear our Brembos. Go to the Enkei site. The phone number is on the bottom of the home page. Call and ask for KING. Tell him you WANT THE NEW WHEEL FOR OUR COBALTS. You are NOT buying or ordering a wheel. Only making a REQUEST. So be polite and talk to the guy. Remember, he is on our side. He probably won't remember me, but tell him Bill told you about this. There is one guarantee. If we DON'T call we will NEVER get any decent wheels for our cars. If we DO call there is a pretty good chance we WILL. CALL!!! PLEASE!!!
Wasn't so breif after all.
Looking for radar detectors now.
