ticking in my t/c

ticking.....Ahhhh haa i bet u guys thought this was another Direct injection post, but nooo i hear the DI, but does any1 hear another tick that seems to happen every second or so?cant hear it in the car only rite next to the hood. Also this may be stupid, but is that suitcase of a thing on the exhaust before the tip the muffler, or resonator?

yea thought it was a muffler, but wasn't positive. the ticking im talking about is from the motor not the exhaust sounds like its coming from the block/headers

ah ok, well i remember tons of posts when the SC's came out ppl were going nuts over the sound of the exhaust ticking as it cooled off. i'm an LSJ guy, so i can't really help you with the TC. and the muffler does look like a silver duffel bag stuffed under the rear bumper.

wish i could do a sound clip of before and after, but have no equipment.I think we r welding a slp pipe (ablut 2 ft of it lol) and a 3'' slp tip on until some1 makes me a damn downpipe and turbo back exhaust!!!!!!!!!!!!! but my cousin had about 6 different pipe/ tips to choose from so we will probably play with a couple 2 see which sounds best.

Yes
at idle you will hear a tick that sounds like high pressure popping off. Its the high fuel pressure fuel pump bypassing. (It sounds like tick pause tick pause tick) About a second of time space between each tick at idle.

its not valve tap - its a perfectly normal sound on a DI car coming from the high pressure fuel pump
