My 06 SS/SC has been "ticking" ever since I got it. I didn't think anything of it at first but now it's really annoying. It makes a ticking sound when it's running and for 15 mins after I turn it off. My friends joke around and say it's a bomb but are your's doing this too? thanx, sorry for the stupid question.

 

it's the exhaust, a lot of cars do it.

 

my car ticks when its off but not for 15 min but then again i never wait around and notice how long it goes for but its just the exhaust

 

yup just the exhaust cooling down

 

if u put n aftermarket exhaust it goes away.

 

^^^ not true mine still does it, its just the metal contracting, all cars do it some are just more noticable.

 

well i put the gmpp exhaust and that annoying ass ticking is non existent to my ears
