Especially since its rumored the full production year run for 2009 is targeting 5000. Im very interested to know how many 08s were made...

I have yet to see another t/c around the triangle area in NC. The only other one I have seen (other than dealers) was at the triangle meet recently, and he was from Fayetteville.

We definitely need someone to find out the numbers for the 08's. I would like a paper or certificate with a number or production date or something official.

Certificates are given out for limited production vehicles (which are cars are not).....
SVT gave certificates w/ the 1996 Cobra's (I still have my certificate)

Not to bring a thread back from the dead, but I was told by Chevy that the production numbers for the 08's will be out in mid-February...I should know something by then and I will post it up.

Anyone want to start a thread with the last 5 or 6 of everybody's VIN # (the production number) to keep track of the cars on the board? As in, build order/color/etc? We could at least start tracking it. I'm pretty sure Chevy's VIN #'s do that just like the other car companies. We did this on crossfireforum.org and basically made a sticky with the list of cars and tracked cars that were destroyed/totalled/active members, stuff like that? Especially since they are a limited model so far...it might be kinda cool to see. I wouldn't have a problem in keeping track and then asking a mod or admin to sticky it once we get a bunch of info.

Anybody interested?

Most of the LNF cars around here are on the dealerships lots. I looked at a black G85 car 5 months ago and it only had 3 miles on it, stopped on monday and it has 7 now, and i still can't decide lol. They just aren't moving em right now. Wait till spring.

I've seen several SS/SC's over the past few years in the Chicagoland area...

I've only seen 1 SS/TC in the area since they came out. It is actually a funny story....

The dealer I got mine from had three on order in April (one was built, the other two were ordered but yet to be built). I took the one that was built because GM had some incentives that expired in April and I wanted to get the free cash. Well...my car was one of the ones that was held at the plant and I didn't end up getting it until June 2nd. During that time, the dealer's other two cars had been built and delivered...I was a little pissed...but I did get the incentives...

So I went to Portillo's that night in my new car (parked way far away so nobody would scratch my new car) and when I came out, someone had avoided all of the empty spaces in the lot and parked right next to me! I was furious until I got a bit closer and noticed that it was one of the other two SS/TC's from the dealer where I got my car. I was slightly less pissed after seeing it was a new SS/TC.

The craziest part of the story is that we both got them from a dealer about 35 miles away and ended up in the same parking lot on the same night...

Still...to this day...the only other SS/TC I've seen...

The End

Ok... I am reviving the thread....has anyone found out the production numbers yet for the 08s? I called the GM customer service line yesterday and they said they would provide the numbers if I gave them my VIN...well I didn't have the VIN and I forgot to get it today... I am especially interested in 08 sport tint red numbers...
