I was just on Autozone's website looking for a part for my balt and you had to selection of engine choices for the 08-09s. The 2.2 and the 2.0 LNF, in parenthesis right next to each engine have a percentage breakdown on each engine with 2.2 taking 99% of the enignes and the 2.0 taking only 1%, I'll post a pic ...

 

I look for cobalts all the time, and when i was promoting our car club I would drive to all of the malls and look for cobalts to put flyers on. Theres 1 blue SS/SC in my area who isnt on the forums and never got back to me, a lot of base models, and 1 SS/TC who works at the dealer who I never see and never comes out with us and very rarely posts on here lol
I consider them rare cars

 

Yeah I'm in the Delaware County are outside of Philadelphia, I've met one other SS/TC owner and saw a yellow base cobalt (looked to be an 05-06) with a high rise spoiler on it (tinted windows) and I think it had black rims (I couldn't tell since there was a median in the way).

I see a TON of base Cobalts/G5's, but I have YET to see an SS/SC or SS/TC on the road without an arranged meeting. Makes me kinda sad considering I like meeting other owners sporadically, not that base cobalt owners aren't the same...

 

On autozone's site for 2006 only 3% of cobalts have a 2.0 sc. Someone posted SS/SC numbers awhile ago and there were roughly 6900 SS/SC made. For 05 and 07 it was 2%

 

That's basically out of 230,000 cobalts built .... 3% of them were supercharged ... interesting. I'm looking forward to when the LNF numbers are produced and broken down by options etc. It give you a true feeling of how 'rare' your cobalt is in the cobalt community.

I was looking at an 06 Accord Coupe V6 6speed a while back. It was black on black leather with navigation and without the spoiler. I found some numbers and only .5% of ALL accords made was in this color with the EXACT same options. I foudn it interesting.

 

look at the last 8 of the vin

all of chevys started with production year so this year it should be 9******* and cobalts next number is a 7 so 97******, the silverados where production year so 9z****** or 91****** covettes are 95****** Colorados are 98****** and the last 6 who knows

 

I have 2 SS/TC's in my household right now!

I have seen 2-3 others....just driving around

there is a yellow TC coupe at a Pep Boys by where I work! I haven't stopped in yet!

 

we may end with a rarity.... for us
good news but bad news to as we will get limited parts becasue of no market......

and the prices are dirt cheap now I got mine for 24K canadian ALL INN.
ppl are noticing that this car rocks

Im not sure but i think90% of all TC are going to have sunroofs.
Makes mine probably like 0.01%

I think there is going to be a dramatic difference between 08 SS/TCs and 09 SS/TCs due to the strike and they only made the 08 model for about 6 months lol

 

It is going to be really rare since it sounds like you have the only convertible SS/TC...probably the only convertible Cobalt!

I see in your sig.....sunroof delete? It's an option here , is it included in Canada? I've been looking at Tc's for awhile and i would say 70% have sunroof's .

no seriously though sunroofs are free in a lot of different models...like my cobalt LT i bought last year.....
My boss was trying to make me take it.....but im not a fan

 

My SS/SC doesn't have one , and thats how i wanted it . After all the problems with the switch's , noise and leaks i'm glad i don't have one .

I saw a yellow one the other day - unfortunately I was driving my 89 f250 at the time...

Its the first 08/09 I have seen in the Raleigh area.


I have no sunroof - specifically ordered it that way. The headroom is more important to me, but I would have loved to have one.. if my head didn't hit the roof.

 

Any official figures yet?

Two weeks ago.... I had a case file open with customer service... they called me to tell me that they were closing my case file because it would be another month before the numbers were in.... I would suggest opening a case file... perhaps if there are multiple cases out there we can get an answer someday

Black SS/TC SEDAN...i have not seen one other sedan.......
