Question Trifecta Tune?

Just a couple questions about this tune. I'm looking for between 300-315 WHP. I was told by a trifecta tuner dealer they could run me at 25psi and have me at 315WHP no problem. But my quetion is will the stock turbo, my Injen intake and my Injen pressure piping hold that much psi? Second, will I have to upgrade any other parts to hold that much power. I really don't want to buy his tune if things are going to break on me or possibly the engine might blow. I'm only asking because I don know much about cars but I'm learning. Thanks

The chance of breaking something is there anytime you push that much boost. Plenty on this site are doing it without issue, but there have been some with broken rollers or ring lands. Your weak points for that kind of boost are the intercooler endtanks, which are plastic, and the plastic chargepiping. You're better off getting a downpipe before getting tuned, as well. That will decrease some backpressure. Trifecta tunes have been proven to be pretty great. Go with 22PSI if you want to be a little safer. You probably won't notice much difference between 22 and 24 PSI with wheelspin being what it is.

Yeah a lot of people can tell you that psi isn't everything 25psi is a good amount for our turbo

There are some guys on here (a lot maybe) that are running anywhere between 300whp and 330whp at like 22-24psi

It all depends on the tuner and how good his tunes are, Trifecta is great thats atleast what everybody says

But since you live in PA, I would pm BYT "Backyard Turbo" and get a Tune from him, everybody loves his tunes and he can get very good power

^Thank you

Ive made that power on 22psi. And while most people say "more boost doesnt mean more power" it actually will on this car! I kept making more power/tq all the way to 30psi! So don't believe the hype

I am now a Trifecta dealer tho too and will be offering TF+HPT Tune options in the next couple weeks.

Still though, I wouldn't run 30psi with our turbo.

For the OP's goals, this could be easily accomplished with 22psi.

Buddy just had the trifecta tune on his car a few weeks ago (08 SS/TC), all is good. Dejon hard piping for everything, he is running 23 psi, has it set-up so only when you're in competative mode the tune is activated.

Awesome tune!! checkout first

To be honest I would conecentrate on the map sensors They blow real easy cause there one bar I think, cant hold the big amount of boost for long maybe 2-3months pending how u drive. U really need the 3bar map sensors so u can save a headache which u can get with stage one kit from gm which is warrantied or buy the bosch from crate engine depot a vendor here for like $20 a piece. As for the tune works really awesome with full 3inch and intake really need to have intake ur car will sound and feel alot better. Now as for psi anything after 25-26 psi you will be just overspinning the turbo I would keep 25 and under. If u run stock intercooler and high boost will heat soak and run a little hotter. Had crazy steve intercooler ran much cooler but had psi drop was too big!! would go with hahn, synapse, dejon intercooler. Ive spoken with vince before and his tune is awesome and it has stealth mode which works awesome dealers cant see the tune shows stock settings when the hook up to computer what other tune u know does that and has a push button feature to save gas AWESOME!!!!!

Please dont post false info....

I ran 30 psi thru the stock sensors for 10K miles and I am STILL on the same sensors at 31k... There was a bad batch of sensors produced and installed on factory models (search and you will find that out).

All the sensors do is allow you to read accurately out to 3BAR. It doesnt allow more boost or mean that you can't run that much boost without them.

If this is true, can you tell us which part of the sensors is failing?

yeah!

There is alot of lnf in the area who have had there sensors replaced its NOT!! a tune issue its a crappy sensor issue the manifold pressure sensor that keeps going out and there is at least 5 lnf turbos in the area that will tell you. Yes there might be a few of you who arent getting that problem but some of us are mine is an 08 and ive had to have mine changed twice cause of them going out. two of my friends once already another guy 14times(lucky they cant find the tune). I love my car hate the sensors Question for all of you? Why do u think Chevy has a stage one kit with SENSORS! duh! think about it the stock ones werent meant for high boost. And u might be running 26 pounds yeah I thought i was doing that to but really it was blown sensor that was giving wrong boost levels how i could tell is i was getting great 26lbs but leave ur foot on the gas and see if u can hold around 10lbs-15lbs if it holds ur sensors are fine if it drops back to zero without letting ur foot off..well u might wanna get it checked out. Now u can say False info but Ive experienced this 3 times already got the reciepts to prove it.
