Turbo LSJ is a lil more than I'm planning on shooting for as a DD lol. If I go TC, I'm planning on ~300whp setup. K&N SRI, catless DP, IC with pipes, Forge BPV, Trifecta tune.

That is an almost exact description of my car. I haven't seen a need to do the IC yet, but the rest of your list is right on where I am.
hey i traded my SRT in for the LNF also lol. I ran big turbo kit, fully built top end, twin pumps, bult tranny, etc. Anyways if you want loud ass raw power get the SRT4 you can easily get into the 400hp range for 2500$ and yes a SRT is half the price. I love the cobalt for its drive ability, power with minimal mods, direct injection, Brembos, comfy, great radio etc. It all depends on your finances. I went 11's in my srt4 for about $3k. if you have the $ get a LNF you wont regret it i sure as hell dont haha. Parts are everywhere for srt new and used soooo many options. 1/4 mile car get the srt4, nice driving long distance comfy road trip, 400tq with bolt ons get a LNF

Love it.
I did the TurboXS catless DP but left the stock cat-back on. I can ride back and forth to work and it's so quiet, but when I get after it the car gives a nice throaty roar. It's the most smiles per mile mod I've done. I like the K+N a lot though it's pretty noisy. Give a little to get a little, I guess. The Forge made 0 difference whatsoever in sound or performance though I guess I won't have to worry about the stock diaphragm as they are prone to rip. Wasn't a total waste in that regard but it was disappointing. I expected it to sound..... different? Better? I got the TurboXS charge pipes. They went on really really easy and look terrific. Got a Trifecta tune as that's all we have around here. Described to Vince exactly what I wanted in my car and my tune and he met my expectation perfectly. I'm very happy with the drivability and performance of the car. The lil car has been a kick to drive, has been very dependable, handles like a go-kart and gets good gas mileage. Works for me.

That makes me a lil sad about the Forge, I thought ppl got some good sound out of those. Don't really want to waste my money if its not at least going to sound good.
The reason I said I would want an IC is I've read that the stocker heat soaks fast, and I know how detrimental heat soak can be from my garbage M90. Seems like an IC would make a decent difference when doing multiple pulls when tuned.
I had '02 WRX, '89 Mitsu Starion, '04 SRT4 and have fond memories, but Cobalt TC has been the best turbo thus far. DP, K&N filter w/ intake tube, trifecta e47 24 psi, forge bpv, trans mount, 245 on stock rims and the car is jolly good fun even as it turns 70000 miles! Still on stock clutch too
I guess I will be the only one to disagree. I had an '04 SRT-4, '06 Cobalt S/C, and now i own a '10 Cobalt T/C. I would take the SRT-4 over both balts all day everyday. I do find it funny how people make fun of the rear windows on the SRT not being electric. It was used to save a little weight, I never sat in the back so i never noticed it hahaha. But test drive both, and see what feels better to you. Their are pros and cons to both cars. At the end of the day, you want to spent your hard earned money on something that makes you happy. Not what other people tell you you should buy.

Sounds like you have a damn nice setup man, sounds exactly like what I want. I am still questioning whether to go catless or catted though and that's due to idk how long I will be going before I get a tune, I plan to get a DP basically when I get the car lol. I'll probably take a day trip to go see Vince, he's only a few hours away.

My forge bpv sound slight different that stock bpv...mostly on low rpm coming off the throttle also with the forge bpv you can choose from 3 set of springs to hold the diaphram. There is green, yellow and red i think. i run the yellow.
But drive boths cars and see which one is better for you. I prefer the cobalt cause of the fuel economy and its pretty much a track(road course) ready car out the box. Both can make great power for cheap so its just a matter picking what you like.

I chose an LSJ over the SRT4 since they are close to the same price, SRTs are a bit cheaper in my area.
After reading about the trans on the SRT4 (3rd gear) as well as reading the forums for the Neons, I figured it was cheaper and better in the long run to go with a Redline SC. I also like the interior and overall fit/feel of the GM's better than the Mopars (shock!)
Most of the SRT4s are rode hard and put away wet. I drove more SRTs than I did SS/SC and Ion RLs... and they were fun/fine cars, very similar, but the SS seemed better put together, and it seemed the more I looked at the two, the SS was less tastelessly modded.... Just about every SRT had at least a boost controller, which who knows what the knob behind that thing did, a few clearly had mods done and then removed... You will have that with the TC/SS as well, but IMO the Cobalt SS's were taken care of better.
If you do go with an SRT make sure the thing is clean as you will save headaches buying a stock car rather than a modded or (especially) a de-modded one.

I own an sc cobalt, an sc cavalier 04, 04 srt4
The cavalier and srt4 feels well more built than my sc cobalt. Srt4 feels strong and not weak like my cobalt does. I love my cobalt but stating my experiance. Im sure the tc feels great though.
My sc cavalier also has 130k and feels strong still.
