You did both together? You hear the K+N. Leave the K+N on, swap the stocker back for the Forge. It'll sound the same.

I've owned both cars, NSRT-4 and my current SS/TC.. I loved both.. both sound great, although from the factory, the NSRT-4 sounds WAY better, but cut off your muffler and add a downpipe and the SS/TC sounds as good, if not better than an SRT-4. TC gets slightly better gas mileage.. TC will outhandle any SRT of any kind on any day in any situation. SRT's get "floaty" above 125 mph.. TC's get "floaty" above 140-145 mph lol.. Maybe lowered with coilovers, it would be better, Idk since I haven't done that yet. Bolt-ons on a TC can get you to low 13's high 12's quite easily depending on your location and driving ability. I know SRT's can get bloody fast, but they're seriously built. I don't think I've seen an SRT with the same amount of bolt-ons go as fast on the track yet. Cobalt looks cooler and is more comfortable to drive all day in, but I still liked the Neon.. it was cool, but the Balts are cooler :P I honestly didn't like the Balt at first, it felt like it had no power and I was disappointed.. once I got it tuned though, no regrets whatsoever. I traded the Neon because the previous owner put Eibach springs on it and 2 of them broke on our shitty roads here in Alberta.. **** poor installation, **** poor springs. If I ever went lowered again, it'd be with full on coilovers.. no point in cheaping out and destroying your suspension where your city's too cheap to repair roads regularly lol.

Honestly I would go for the cobalt if you have the money to spend. I like srt4s but honestly at this point any srt4 you get is going to be at least 8 years old and from my experience people I know beat the hell out of their srt4s so that's another thing to be skeptical of. As far as looks, reliability, features and streetability I would go for a cobalt. For $1000 you can be easily pysing 320+HP yo the wheels

IF you need a 4 door ...... SRT4 . I like the looks of the SRT better than a SS sedans. Ive had both an SS/SC and SS/TC and both are great cars. The TC handles a little better and is easy to make 300 whp with ....... thou with E85 the SS/sC can make 300 whp a lot easier now than when i had one . I love my ss/tc but the SC's supercharger whine is one of the sweetest sounds Ive ever heard a 4 banger make..... but im sure with an SC GTP you already know.

If money is a major deciding factor I would look for a 06-07 SS/SC with the G85 (lsd and recaro seats for 06 and early 07.....later 07 only has Lsd with that package) option package . This way you have a car that can make anywhere from 250-300 whp with the blower (depending on how far you want to mod it) .....then if you want to go big you can throw a turbo on and make whatever you want hehe.

I'm still a kid so 4 doors aren't a must, yet.

300whp seems like a quick DD that's easily to get. E85 is not very easily obtained here so sadly that wouldn't work. I've thought about an SS/SC but they're a lot harder to get to 300 than a TC.

I do love the whine lol, but I think I'm ready for a turbo. One of the reasons I want a TC is for the MPG which is why my GTP kills me.

I average about 16MPG on E47, with all in-town driving.

I'm lucky to get that on 92 let alone enthanol. Isn't over 20 all city realistic in a TC?

I own a 2010 SS/TC and my roommate has a 04 SRT-4. Ive drove his SRT a couple times and its pretty sweet but the interior is just cheaply made and not attractive at all lol. It is powerful and sounds better than any other 4 cylinder from the factory. In the end though I have to agree with a lot of the guys and say test drive them both. See which one you like the most. Thats what matters in the end.

Agreed.... I haven't heard a stock 4 banger that sounds better than an NSRT-4 ...... their exhaust note is awesome.

Cheaply made? Have you looked at the interior of a cobalt? Every time I get in my tc all I hear is click, bang, clunk, crack, rattle and so on. Drive me nuts

Anyways, like everyone said, go drive both and then make your decision.

cobalt interior >>> srt4 interior.

i own both currently.

i prefer my balt over the neon in every aspect.

except exhaust. my srt4 sounds like it has 500whp when its actually only around 270whp if that. lol

My passenger door clicks when I hit a bump, dash makes a clank noise over bumps and it sounds like the car is hollow over a bumpy road (if that makes sense?) I know the car is light and all but guess I'm just used to f-bodies.

Mine too . I have never understood why people say these cars are rattle traps because mine is super quiet and doesnt make any thuds or squeaks . My SS/SC was solid as well ....only issue i had with that was the rear seat latch would make a little noise but unlatching it was an easy fix 8) .

My SS/TC is quieter than the old man's 06 C6 .... just an example hehe.

4skins do sound pretty badass. definatly my favorite sounding 4 banger. but like previously mentioned the SS/TC is so easy to mae 300whp.

i think a srt vs a ss/tc sedan..the srt looks better.

as mentined before if you find a srt,its most likley beat to **** by now.

id go with a SS/TC there are alot of factors. depends on what you plan on doing with the car,if its going to be your DD you could have a quick DD. even with Stage 1,it still moves pretty damn good IMO
