Turbo problem?
It appears they will also refund me my diagnostic fee. I accidentally left my dashcam on yesterday and it's hilarious to hear the tech's talk about the problem. One mentioned the aftermarket motor mounts. The other said the rattles are caused by the exhaust note (motor mounts cause the plastic around the rear view mirror, mpd, and cluster to rattle). How mounts can cause turbo damage I don't know.
Side note, are there good mounts that actually isolate vibrations. The ones in there now are polyurethane so every blip is felt, especially when the A/C is on.

Kind of a crappy question, but does anyone know who makes the mounts in the picture?

The "tech" see the exhaust leak now. I was told that my mechanic didn't fix the exhaust leak. I let him know that that leak appears to be on the downpipe, I was told it was the aftermarket exhaust flange that was leaking. Then he says the technician says the aftermarket mount may be interfereing with the downpipe. I want to call the manufacturer of the aftermarket mount, because it looks like its a billet version of the stock mount (dimentions).

Glad you won this battle dude...with chevy you get some dealerships that are cool and others that are ********...i dealt with both and there seemed to be more of the latter. I love my chevy but their cars as of late are get boring and falling behind the competition. God forbid if i did lose my balt for whatever reason its up in the air if i would go with a chevy again for a daily.

I've never been extremely picky about interiors or things like that so I'm ok with Chevy cars. My biggest concern is power to weight ratio, gas mileage and handling.
Get an endoscope and check it out. I doubt you'll be able to see anything without one. I bought mine on amazon for $40 shipped. It's a USB endoscope with light. If it's a flutter noise check your downpipe exhaust gasket (where the turbo connects to the downpipe), as apparently the one on my car failed. But the metalic noise I heard was definately shaft play on the turbo (made rather obvious by the gouges in the pictures I took of the intake side of the turbo)
@Sarah, Thanks for all your help.

Got my car back. New turbo made a difference. There is still a slight noise, but it's much better. Apparently, there was a nut missing on the downpipe which is why there was an exhaust leak at the downpipe. How's that for diagnosis? Talk about putting blinders on. They looked at my car saw aftermarket exhaust and didn't even see a missing nut. LOL!!!! I haven't touched the car since I bought it so it wasn't me. All I've done are oil changes and drive it.
Ohh, also, my car developed a clunk in the rear end, especially now that the weather is cold. I found that the lower shock bolt worked it's way loose. Tightened it back up and all is quiet in Cobaltopolis once again.

The missing nut was me... the nut rounded and I didnt want to put it on cuz you would have never been able to get it off. My catless downpipe was like that too. Didn't matter for performance so I left it. The ticking you are hearing under high load/boost is probably the wastegate opening and closing really fast. The motor mounts are TTR mounts that were the best around when I put em on. Keep them on there the stock ones make it feel like there is a roll of duct tape holding your engine in the bay. At least you got a new turbo out of the deal.
