Is there an available underhood liner for the LNF?

You can get either of the ones from GM and they work. The one with the SS on it or the one with the bowtie.

Is there a reason why the TC doesn't come with one?

Yep cause I assume it would rub on the charge piping. I could be wrong.

I second this, at least that's what I've heard. Some have said they see a make left on the liner and others have said they have seen nothing. I've also heard that it might not rub with aftermarket charge piping. I'm going to still try it out myself, as it beats the alternative of the hood paint cracking over time because of the heat

The 4-bangers I've seen and worked on from the 80s all didn't have underhood liners. I assumed it was because the 4-cylinder engines don't generate enough heat to damage the paint. Every V8 that I've worked on or owned had a liner. The only exception was the E-250 cargo van, but the engine was more underneath the instrument panel / doghouse than the hood.

I know that there are a few people that have the TC's and have the liner and are fine but some people say that it rubs. I guess I will find out when I pick one up soon. I am going to have aftermarket piping though so we will see.

I have one under my hood.

It rubs against my hot side piping but doesn't melt to it.

Do you have stock or aftermarket piping?

The reason it doesn't come with one is because extreme temps from the turbo in hot summers. The hood liner insulates the motor trapping in heat. The hood liner is not needed and not recommened

Interesting. The hood is very light, so I think it might be an aluminum alloy. My concern is the paint and whether it can handle the heat.
