VIN Number

Hey so i need someone's VIN who has or had GMS1

Simple reason i am looking at what a dealership would when they replace your ECU and it tells me what i need to look for as far as GMS1 without buying the full kit...

Your VIN will not be used in any bad manner or anything simply just entered in to bring up everything GM has scanned to it etc etc... someone help please?

my dad works for GM, he showed me how to log into his GM Global Connect portal etc and though there i can see what has been done to the ECU of a selected VIN like mine is just the basic at the factory stuff... where as a GMS1 car would have an extra file for the GM tune, and that is what i am trying to see, i am trying to find the file or rather what its called on there

I think when GM flashes the ECM they fittingly title the subsection of the Stage1 file: "Stop being a cheap pos and trying to get around the system"

eh your most likely right, but i think my dad is on this for the fact he'll be the driver of this specific cobalt for 2 months and who knows he may try to flip the system and put it on there while i'm gone... who knows...

I've got over trying to get around it.. this is all him, i am just trying to show him what he wants to see..

why not just buy the 3bar map sensors from crate engine depot and just get it tuned. i have gmstage 1 and while its pretty stout id much rather have a custom tune so i truely unlock my cars potential and so i stop kicking p0101 codes and going into limp mode.

well of course the sensors have to be bought, but they are GM so that's discounted... per custom tune that's happening springish time next year

^ go on ebay, and look for a dealership that's selling a ss tc with a GM stage 1. Pretend your interested in the car, ask for the vin cause you want to do a ''carfax, and car report '' . And bam, there's your vin.

that is a good idea... i thought about looking through the classifieds here, but i figured that was wrong so I'd rather just ask.... now if it's someone else that's a good plan

All you'll have to do is take for a drive, that should quickly let you know if it has Stage 1

the dealership probably has no clue what they even have on their lot. just look for the blue sticker on the upper MAP sensor

well after running a VIN from an 09 with it, and an 08 with it, the part number and CVN are the same, so i presume the file is the same, but it is vin decoded
