Warranty is up, what to mod next

The factory warranty on my silver '09 SS sedan is up and I'm debating between modding it or getting an E90 335i. The decision is hard since my SS has been a blast to own, it only has 26k miles and I had 0 issues with it. My only current mods are GMS1 and Pedders springs.

If I were to keep it, what mods would be recommended next and what kind of realistic gains can I expect from them? Reliabilility & drivability would come 1st since this is my daily driver.

Thanks!

Mod EVERYTHING!!! Haha just kidding, I have an /sc, but from what I've seen others say, upper and lower charge piping, full exhaust and a tune should have you sitting pretty close or above 300hp. Just my suggestion, but again, don't know much about the /tc's.

I'd just stick with GMS1 for the time being. Reliablility = 99%

Just get a catted downpipe, and a K&N intake.

Do some simple bolt ons and HPtune it. You will love it and its pretty reliable... eventually you will need a new clutch so thats the next mod after that. Then you will get bored with 320whp 360trq and you will turbo swap it and get the 6 speed tranny.

Not even that much. Exhaust is really only a sound mod for the SS/TC. Upper charge pipe yeilds no gains other than reliablility, and lower charge pipe is a complete waste.

Well, like I said, don't know much about the tc just going off what I've read before, guess that guy was a "special" case. In that case, I refer to my previous statement of mod everything haha

Thanks Aaron. What kind of HP gains can I expect from these and what brand of downpipe do you recommend?

Except all the issues with bad connections in the wiring and sensors hitting the fan or AC line and moisture getting in.

True but he's already got GMS1 so if he hasn't had these problems, there's no need to worry. Even with an HP tune, he could still have these problems because the sensors are already installed.

Either a ZZP catted or TurboXS catted. I've heard good things about the ZZP one, and I've personally had the TurboXS one. I never had one code with the TurboXS catted downpipe and I only had the GMS1 tune.

I know some people on here with just GMS1 and the K&N intake and they were dyno'ing 5-10 hp more. A downpipe can yeild up to 20ish hp with a custom tune, so obviously a little less with the GMS1 tune. There's an official dyno thread where you can see what everyone is dyno-ing at and what their mods are. There are a few GMS1 dynos with varying bolt ons, should give you a good idea at how much power you can make.

really comes down to your budget and goals... there are countless mods, and this motor is by far extremely stout.

When I dynoed I had a CIA 3" highfllow catted dp and a k&n intake with gms1
I put down 282whp usually just gms1 lays down somewhere between 265-275 with no mods. And 280-300wtq
Not having a stock Lnf dyno at the same place doesn't rally make the info all that relevant but those two mods are great IMO even just for the noise lol.

Hpt or trifecta tuned with those mods usually sees 20-30 whp over a tune without those mods.

But over all the best bang for the buck is a custom tune with a downpipe.

I vote for the bimmer. Sorry, guys, but I've always wanted one. I might be looking into getting one soon, myself.

I ended up getting the bimmer so unfortunately I have to sell my '09 silver SS sedan with 26k miles. I wish I could keep both but it isn't possible. Thanks.
