i plan on lowering my 08 and i was gonna choose Eibach Sportlines. There common, but i had the pro-kit on my 2.2 and they were great. There well made and drop nice and ride quality is decent too

We have them in stock also. Eibach Sport lines IMO are the best.

Depends on the shop, you could do them in a home garage, takes less than 2 hours.

Members have been running sportlines on stock struts since 2005...

You will get a better ride quality with the Koni setup, but the stock struts do hold up.

I went with SSC springs. Same drop but the seller is in Canada so I don't have to pay a stupid amount for shipping that vendors here like to charge.

Apparently they drop the same as the sportlines but are not as stiff. I will wait until they are installed to comment more.

My stock shocks on my '06 2.4 Cobalt were bleeding after 2 years on Sportlines. The SS/TC shocks are upgraded I believe...but is it enough to handle a few years of Sportlines is the question? To those who would reply "Then get the shocks and springs and call it a day", price is an object for me personally so I can't grab both.

It will either be stock shocks and Sportlines, or stock shocks and stock springs

The TC struts are different than the SS/SC. With sportlines the TC struts should be fine. Yes they are rougher on the struts but the TC has very well made struts and you should NOT have a problem. If the SC ones can handle at least a few years, then I believe the TC SHOULD handle long enough that you dont have to worry about it

And about handling I have also heard YES they may hurt handling a bit. I dont personally see how a lower center of gravity would do this, but apparently the TC handling is tuned pretty well, and lowering the car will hurt it a bit, but I dont think anything serious at all. At least not enough for me to worry about. I think there more of a Pro then a Con. Get some sway bars and youll be ok again

Pedders makes a set of lowering springs for the HHR SS and Cobalt SS.

Lowers between 22-25mm (front and rear), plus the spring rates are nearly identical to the OEM SS-TC springs.
