I admit I purchased the wheel and tire protection package - low pro tires, all it takes is one pothole or curb and that is $260 for a tire and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for a new wheel (IF! you can find one). That is worth a few hundred dollars to me for the next 3 years. A normal car / normal profile tires / cheap wheels - who cares? You would have to be an idiot to buy that package.

I love when people try to justify their lease because they didnt have enough money to purchase the car. I dont care who you are or what you drive, leasing will ALWAYS put the money in the corporate carpetbagger's pocket.
What the *&$@ are you talking about and what is it that you do for a living that you know so much about leases....???and I don't have enough to purchase my car?...so what do you own...???how many carstrucks...???that is just about the most uninformed statement that I have ever heard...GM guarantees that MY car is worth a certain amount at the end of my lease...and at the end of your loan...your car is not guaranteed to be worth anything...and the next thing you are going to say, well the windshield can't be cracked, and the tires have to be in good shape...and the interior has to be good...well you try and trade in a dirty old car with bald tires and cracked windshield...see how much you get for it...and in a lease you have gap protection...and I am sure alot of you don't know what that is...some might...anyways...I am paying my payments of under $300 a month...my interest for 4 years is $571 total...so that is what it is costing me....at the end when I want my Camero...I can....can you with your loan...???and say what you will...we do ok....I think if ya wanna start counting toys...of course I can't afford them....I still think I am gonna win. I just think that was a very rude statement...very childish...and if you are using a car as an investment...there is really no equity in cars...in fact we actually made money off our Avalanche when our lease was up...if you knew about leases...but I am not going to help you out...

How do you gain equity? By the time the car is paid off through a standard financing term you have already lost half the value on the car. Technically you're already in the hole once the car is off the lot since the cost of the car with taxes and destination charges is already worth more than the car itself, plus interest on the purchase (if any).

Unless you're investing in a classic car you'll always be taking a loss on a purchase of a vehicle...
