I never had a problem communicating with Vince, he always seems to respond in a timely manner. No problems with tunes on my car after 2 years either.

I've sold around 20 trifecta tunes now to cobalts, skys, solstices, camaros, corvettes, etc. If you want to get everything ironed out in one shot, email vince and say "hey can you be available for tuning at this time on this day". He will usually say yes. I don't let my customers leave unless the car is exactly where they want it and I have several repeat customers or customers that have been referred by others. It's not rocket science.... if you want the tune perfect, ask him for a day and time to dedicate to you. Keep sending logs until you are happy with where it is.

I sent him another email offering the same stuff again, we'll see what he says.
I think he may already have someone helping him. One time I sent him an email to update my tune when I installed my downpipe and got a response from a completely different address saying my logs looked good.

If the tune is needed to make aftermarket bolt ons run properly, how do they behave when the select-a-tune is selected off? Also, is the select-a-tune annoying since putting the car in competitive mode enables launch control as well? Does it get in the way?

The reason I ask is because, I don't think I really want it set to the cruise button since if I'm in cruise control I don't think I'll be in need of having the tune enabled haha. \

Help a noob out?

It'll behave like the stock tune does, or whetever your "traction on" tune is. I don't think you have to have stock + trifecta, I think you can have two different trifecta tunes if you want. Also if you don't like the way the stock launch control is set, Trifecta can change it.

Also, who says cruise on has to be the tune? Maybe it's cruise off is the tune. That's how I'd do it.

With the cruise button on mine is in the factory tune or my case GMS1 tune, with the cruise button off it is the Trifecta tune

Right that makes a lot of sense actually, thought it had to be on.

The selecta a tune is merely boost level changes on demand.

When can actually set it up either way (but default is cruise off = custom tune). To some people, having extra boost with the cruise control off isn't intuitive (e.g. light on should = more power). But we designed it to be extra boost with the cruise control off for this reason - we figured you wouldn't need more boost with the cruise control on. Lol

Can you do it with the fog light button? or thats totally different on the ECU. Fogs on = tuned, fogs off= stock.

The fog light switch is hooked up to the body control module. Actually, the cruise control and traction control buttons are hooked up to the BCM also, and the BCM tells the ECM what the button status is. But the BCM doesn't tell the ECM about the fog light switch status because the ECM doesn't care about the fog light status.

That was a long drawn out way of saying "No, we can't do that." Lol

Vince, how does the budget tune work exactly? Is it completely a canned tune? Or do the few things you can get with it get tuned with the car?

Also, what is the power output of the budget tune?

Its a TF tune that isn't selectable, and doesn't get free retunes. The selectable tune is worth the extra cash
