Why the hate?
After doing a run with an obnoxious 300 SRT8 driver, I'm just cruising along and this Evo and Wrx sti fly past me. I roll past them at the light and I see them staring at my car. The light turns green and the Sti rolls up, I say to him "Nice car man", he replies with "Why a cobalt?" The driver and passenger both start laughing and throw their thumbs down as he revs his engine so I can hear his BOV; they then speed past me.
If you're a true car enthusiast, it's not necessarily about what your driving, but what you put into. I respect all cars and If you taken the time to make your ride your own, I respect that. Some people are a disgrace to the car community.

it's always been this way.
back in the 70's, if you were sitting at the light in a NASTY AMC Javelin after mopping the floor with the Charger, and two dudes rolled by in a Chevelle and a GTO, they would do the same thing.
it's part of the inherent natural selection process built into all of us, and comes from the same place as adolescent bullying.
watch the attitudes of certain groups of owners for a while. you'll see patterns develop-- like the most insecure bullies pick the cars they think are the most powerful or most intimidating, or the more thoughtful guys pick the cars they KNOW they can build to beat the big guns, etc
it never changes
don't like it? get off the playground or establish youself as a non player ( get a car that's "bigger" than theirs, or completely oustside their thing)

Ram or a mustang. They think they own the road and are usually the ones causing trouble.
id be pretty pissed off if i bought an sti used for the price of a brand new cobalt ss turbo and it had the same potential (roll races)
but hey, thats just me lol
there is so much hype behind subarus, evos, etc. everybody thinks the cobalt is a joke because it isnt hyped up. i dont care though, down here i suprise a mustang or 2. the 4.6, not the 5.0 lol

I was on my phone and didnt realize you live in the springs, yeah a lot of subi's around here think the cobalt is junk. Just enjoy the look on their face when you destroy them, there are a few fast ones around here, but they top out quick and a roll from 45ish you'll leave them far far behind
probably stock but i still had my way with them haha. its not even about being a real car enthusiaist. its just people are stupid and have no idea the potential that lies within these engines.
I definitely would of ran em just to see the look on his face, but there was heavy traffic in town, not worth the risk.
Out of the hole the subis and evos are fast, but ill say our cars pull like no other from a roll. I was surprised when I pretty much waxed an 06 wrx but damn near a buss length from a 30 roll.

I rescind my last comment. These cobalts are good out if the hole if you do it correctly! Damn near as fast out of the hole as my last 4.6l mustang with full.Boltons and 4.10 gears
It would have been sweet if ud have wasted em to

Had something similar happen to me tonight a new white sti kept being a dick so we hit a light and he was reving so I naturally Reved back to show it's on...I ate him the entire time and after he gve up he did the ricer fly by and came up next to him two lights later he wouldn't even look...everyone thinks sti and Evo are top notch and not many people know the cobalts potential and what it's capable of
