yea old news it maybe, but I do believe this will be the closest thing we can get to an AWD setup swap. That is unless they got this AWD setup from one of their SUVs and the frame of the regal is the same frame as one of the SUVs (I doubt that). I could see this working if we had a custom drive line for the difference in wheelbase length.

I'd imagine that would be a rediculous undertaking. A guy can dream though....IMO Assuming the engine mounted width ways in the engine bay like ours it might be marginally more feasable than a rwd swap since you wouldn't have to turn the engine length ways... Still be crazy I'll bet. But what do I know?

This is old news, but I give GM a thumb up for using our EcoTec in more applications. The car in SAAB variant will have the 2.8 V6 twin turbo from Holden (rated @ 300hp).

Gears are not cheap to manufacture, plus you have to figure out the engineering / modelling / cnc machines programming, tooling, etc... Honestly, the price is not too bad for what you get.

AWD and 6spd is overated. My 05' STi 6spd uses more gas than my 5 spd SS because of the short gears in the STi. AWD = more **** to break, replace and less HP because of the driveline lost unless you are planning on rally racing/off roading. However, it would nice to see some short of clutchless paddle shifter.

my ms3 6sp got better gas mileage, but the gearing is so short. All the horny 1/4 and roll racers would hate a 6spd...soo wtf.

There has been a lot of talk about GM not building the AWD GS now.

I don't think it is worth it as well. I agree AWD is sweet as my favorite trucks are the syclone and Typhoon.

im not a fan of the 6 spd either. im fine with my cobalt the way it is now. fwd doesnt bother me either. just thought id see others opinions on the matter. but you have to admit, it would be pretty sweet to see what an awd cobalt with our motors could do track and drag wise.

Hi just so you guys know. It lists the 6 speed as having automatic overdrive. So unless your wanting an automatic cobalt then we should all stop drooling. However if they make one automatic and awd I will buy one for sure. Automatic awd launches are pretty sick. Hold the brake
push the throttle let off the brake and jump into the lead. At least after we get Vince to tune this bad boy. A 300+ horse Buick is something I can sink my teeth into
