Awesome your cobalt is, 'til it's gone.
Today I realized how freakin' awesome my ride is. I was thinkin' of this 'cause recently I had a job interview in Charlotte NC. I had to fly into Knoxville TN airport (TYS) and then drive to CLT. So that means I rented a car. They gave me an '11 Sentra w/ the CVT. Needless to say, I hated every minute of driving that stupid car. The problems consisted of........ everything. Way too under powered, the steering was numb, brakes sucked, steering wheel would shake violently under heavy breaking, uncomfortable seats, handling was a freakin' joke and it smelled horrible, (stupid freakin' idiotic retarded smokers). The only pro about the car was the 35 mpg avg. 250 miles up hill was about 7.5 gallons. It was trippy seein' the tach pegged and not move while accelerating. When I got home yesterday, the first thing I did was drive the SS the way it was meant to be driven. Oh how I missed everything about the SS. I would gladly give up a 27 mpg vs 35 mpg avg if it meant having a proper car. I've had my SS for 2 years now and just got used to being in it that the initial awesomeness wore off and it was just normal to me. Then when I drove the sentra was when I realized that this is a normal car and my SS is way above normal.

I strongly agree that these cars are one of the best Chevys ever produced. I love mine. It drives itself, it's pretty quiet on the highway, when I want to pass someone it's done in short order, and it handles like nothing else. These cars are very underrated and undervalued at the moment. I got my 2008 SS in 2009, with 3K miles on it for 15.8K. I didn't even realize when I bought it how much of a steal it was.
I know the feeling. We have civics for pool cars at work. About the only positive is mileage. That said most people view a car as another appliance. They only car about getting from place to place. They don't care about performance. Rentals and pool cars are always beat to **** cause its not their car.
My 2.0 Turbo gets just as good of milage as my friends 2009 Civic Auto...
Only it has 2x the power and 3x the torque and handles better, and is more fully loaded.
Hes car is probably worth many thousands more than mine still >.<

Ask a woman lol. My gf uses her car as another closet. If it starts, goes, and holds cloths she is happy with it. She drove around on a tire with 15 psi of air for a month before the pulling and vibration bugged her enough to ask me about it.
My GF drive an 06 328xi. When I drive that, I DON'T miss my cobalt
I actually dread getting back into it. Sure it's faster, but the BMW drives and handles 100x better. My next car will certainly be a BMW.
Edit: Don't hate, I know they are more expensive. But it's money well spent after you spend some time behind the wheel of one.

WHY!!! Most girls are soooooo terrible at maintaining cars. I used to hate when my gf would ask me stuff abOut her car. I'd be like how long it been like that? " a couple weeks" usually what I get. Her sister drive her jeep till the oil came out in chunks lol. Her mom and dad are terrible too but at least I see where she ges it from .

I know men that can't either which is just sad.
i miss my 98 passat, which is broken in my driveway, but only because it's slammed on some BBS's and handles like it is on rails. one day i'll fix it and plaid the headliner and put it back in.
i drive the wifes 2.5 altima auto from time to time, def. a big change in power output from the SS/TC to the Altima ha.
