zzp charge pipe installed
today i intalled by charge pipe from zzp. installation was pretty easy, it even came with directions on what to do.its really easy. Cut plastic holding the rubber n plastic charger pipe together on both end. take of lil screw at midway point. wiggle ur way taking it off n wiggle ur way putting it back on. only took about 30 min to do. I took it for a lil test drive n notice my car does not jerk as much when u let off the gas pedal at 1st or 2nd gear. Also seems to be a lil more responsive on the gas pedal. i really do like it and not expensive. way to go ZZP ur fast service and products are awesome.

This is the 2nd time i heard people cutting **** off to take the stock charge piping off. Why would you need to cut anything? Its just T-Bolt clamps and the recall just added a pain in the ass Torx bit I think it was and a clip to the charge pipe. nothing needs to be chopped off.
Anyways thats not important though, i never even knew ZZP had charge piping untill now, looks pretty good. Take some pics, the Flikr pic didnt work

the zzp cp replaces the factory plasict section you dont need to take it off from the ic or the turbo just cut the 2 plastic rings on the factory piping and slide in the zzp cp and use the tbolts it comes with that simple
Good stuff OP, looks clean.
Not trying to thread jack but looking at ZZP's site I saw this
http://www.zzperformance.com/cobalt_...1154&catid=178
Is this similar to CIA's kit that moves the MAF to the cold side Charge Pipes, but the description says that "converts your MAF to a blow through design allowing you to install a Blow off valve that vents to atmosphere without the tuning nightmare". How would this work?

yea i didnt understand what was going on untill now. I saw the product on there website and thought maybe they just didnt picture the piece that goes to the turbo and intercooler lmao. But i get it now. Why the hell would they do that though? such a pain in the ass. To me thats not really worth the work and hacking up a stock piece just to save 15-20 bucks over a complete charge pipe from Injen. Thats my opinion of course but how hard or how much more would it cost for them to make it a simple bolt on piece.

Our charge pipe is a simple bolt on pc.. Bolts right on to the factory location! The injen pipe is thin wall alum., and crushes when you clamp it down. Aluminum has to be annealed before it can be bent, now it's even softer and can be crushed with your hands when it is thin wall. We use 14ga. aluminum which will not crush when you clamp it with a t-bolt. Reusing the factory couplers is a good way to keep the cost down on a great part, and there are no significant gains to be had when you change the lower charge pipe. Especially for the amount of extra work.
I hear what your saying and im a big supporter of you guys, but I guess im one of those guys who likes to keep all his stock parts and throw them in my attic just incase i ever need them back on. It would be nice if I had the option to buy a full replacement Hot side piece. Thats just me though
Matt could you explain this product to me http://www.zzperformance.com/cobalt_...1154&catid=178 either in here or via PM
