Question ZZP Upper Charge Pipe Install

TLDR: Do you have to reuse the lower stock coupler on the ZZP upper charge pipe when installing? ( I did search for the ZZP pipe for install, saw the Hahn but thought it was a bit too different).

So I just got the charge pipe in the mail yesterday, silicon couplers today...

Got the turbo-side of the hose off, thought things were going great... looking down at the IC-side of the deal, I note that there's no way the upper charge pipe is going to bridge the whole length between turbo and IC... so I make the assumption that you have to reuse the lower stock coupler between pipe and IC.

I was hoping to circumvent doing so since I would need to acquire something better than a pocket knife to cut the plastic ring and use the stock coupler... is this the only way to get the upper charge pipe installed? (reusing the lower stock coupler, I mean).

Thanks for any advice.

ZZP makes it very easy for the install, you reuse all your stock couplers, lower coupler that goes into your IC and upper that goes into the turbo

I cut those rings off with a plastic cutting saw blade. Cut it at an angle so it would be easier not to make any mistakes.

I'm probably going to have to pick something up at Sears or Pep Boys or something to do it; can't think of anything I have on-hand other than a pocket knife to cut it.

Also, did you cut the ring on the lower pipe while attached to the car or did you remove it and then reattach?

Don't try and cut it while it's in the car.

The way we do this is-

cut the ring on the coupler above the motor

pull the stock charge tube out of the top coupler

swing the charge tube over towards the driver side of the car and strap it there or have someone hold it

cut the ring on the lower coupler and remove the stock charge tube

slide a T-bolt clamp and the ZZP charge tube into the lower coupler

slide a T-bolt clamp and the ZZP charge tube into the upper coupler

bolt the charge tube down

tighten the clamps

Ryan does these at the shop in less than 15 minutes. It's pretty easy once you have the process figured out.

That makes sense..how do you get if off then without cutting? That plastic cover seems to be CLAMPED on damn tight!

I took the whole stupid charge pipe off and then cut the rings off. I Then assembled it and threw it back on the car.
